According the Beeb (BBC):

At least 137 people have been killed and hundreds more injured in explosions at churches and hotels in Sri Lanka, police and hospital sources say.

At least eight blasts were reported. Three churches in Negombo, Batticaloa and Colombo's Kochchikade district were targeted during Easter services.

The Shangri-La, Kingsbury, Cinnamon Grand and a fourth hotel, all in Colombo, were also hit.

A curfew has been imposed from 18:00 to 06:00 local time (12:30-00:30 GMT).

The government also said there would a temporary block on the use of major social media networks.

No group has yet said it was responsible for the attacks.

Update:"At least 207 people have been killed and 450 hurt in explosions at churches and hotels in Sri Lanka, police say."

The "church attacks" your referring to is minor stuff, breaking and entering, desecration, theft and such, common vandalism with no injuries reported. Compared to eight coordinated explosions and 207 dead so far It isn't even on the same page.

The OP was insinuating a connection between last weeks fire at ND in France and the current event in Sri Lanka that isn't supported by the facts currently available. And that was what my comment was addressing.

"The most notable attack occurred on 17th March, when Saint Sulpice, the second biggest church in Paris, was set on fire shortly after midday Mass in an incident that police are describing as arson. The damage is estimated at hundreds of millions of euros – and it could have been much worse but for the prompt response by firefighters."

    That is minor?

      no injuries or deaths reported.

So yeah, minor. At least in my book.

Because relative harm means nothing to you? Burning down a cathedral in the middle of a crowded mass would indeed do more than raise an eyebrow for me. A cathedral merely catching fire in the midst of a risky renovation? Not so much. It's just going to cost them more to renovate it in the end.

So, if someone burned down your house with no injuries or deaths that is "minor"?

So, if someone burned down your house with no injuries or deaths that is "minor"?

Particularly, given I have insurance, absolutely. Particularly since the alternative here is burning down my house with my loved ones in it. Houses can be replaced. That makes destruction of such minor.

Except that it's not. You would be stating a nontrivial fact about the relative harm of the two.

no you wouldn't. A sum of two disgraces is always worse than either. Think pulseaudio and systemd.

Wasn't relevant to the discussion, not least because nobody claimed otherwise about the above.
