Men initiate sex more than three times as often as women do in a long-term, heterosexual relationship. However, previous research shows that sex happens far more often whenever the woman takes the initiative, suggesting that it is the woman who thus sets the limits to a greater extent than men do.

Psychologists at NTNU have investigated what other factors play a role for frequency of intercourse in couples in long-term relationships.

Two factors are decisive in how often women take the initiative at all.

Attitudes to casual sex
[...]Got to have passion

[...]The study included 92 couples aged 19 to 30. Relationships varied in length from one month to nine years, with an average of just under two years. The couples had sex two to three times a week on average.

The fastest way to end a passionate relationship is to get married. Personal experience here, but once a woman feels like she has you, she will be far less receptive to your sexual desires and needs. This is why the best bet is to keep two or three women in your love life and avoid marriage and other long term commitments like the plague.

We all know that you are not posting about keeping "two or three women in your love life" from your actual personal experience.

Possible counter point to my above assertion: Unless they are made of pixels or mostly air.

Marriage can be a beautiful thing.

Look at Gaaark for example. He's crazy about his wife. He's lucky to have her and she's lucky to have him.

It's not all about the sex. Having a partner to go through life with and share joy and misfortune with is a gift. Knowing someone has your back is amazing.

I think that many people get married for the wrong reasons. I feel you should get married because you cannot imagine a scenario where you wouldn't want this person in your life. If they cheat on you, lose their job, get sick, stop wanting sex -- that you would still want to be with them in some major way. Your wife should be your best friend and life partner. A teammate that together you navigate the world.

Personally, I would not be happy without a committed relationship. What is the point in life if you don't have someone to share it with? I want someone I can tell about the mundane things that happen, and someone what will comfort me when I'm beaten down.

Two or three? Why in FSM's name would you want to deal with that much drama? One was bad enough, and she wasn't that bad TBH.

Interview with a polygamous Mormon wife, they asked how she felt about sharing her husband with six or so other wives. She responded, "I don't think I could manage him by myself!" Suddenly, polygamy stopped seeming like a good idea.

For all the overprotective fathers out there, researchers have identified a substance that, once consumed, will eliminate the urge for their daughters to have sex: wedding cake

Then the answer's simple: list out your preferences in java/ruby, compiled/scripting, python/perl, emacs/vi, and android/iOS (oh and liberal/conservative). Then find someone who really likes the opposite, and watch the chemistry take off (producing volatile, combustible compounds) and the sparks fly! Make sure you're both wearing protective gear first though.

The fastest way to end a passionate relationship is to have kids, which you don't have to have. And it's not just women who give up on relationships once they feel secure, but men too.
