From The Verge, an article on autonomous weapons systems:

YouTube’s new policies designed to more aggressively tackle supremacist content have also led to some creators claiming their videos have been improperly removed or hidden in the process. They argue that YouTube is not distinguishing between actual hate content and videos that document hate groups for educational or journalistic purposes.

In militaries, there is a saying: "Friendly fire isn't."

YouTube announced on Wednesday that it was taking stronger measures to ban “videos alleging that a group is superior in order to justify discrimination, segregation or exclusion based on qualities like age, gender, race, caste, religion, sexual orientation or veteran status.” It was only minutes later that creators began to see channels being removed or videos pulled down — including a channel run by a history teacher, a video uploaded by the Southern Poverty Law Center, and independent journalist Ford Fischer.

Fischer is a YouTube-based reporter who covers politics, activism, and extremism. He’s shot footage at events like the Unite the Right white supremacy rally that occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2017, as well as gay pride parades. Some of his footage is used by documentarians and educators to study extremism and activist groups around the world, Fischer tells The Verge.

Looks like YouTube is going to demonetize aristarchus!

Go start your own website, everyone. On a computer you own and control. Now. When 5G comes, you will find hosting video website from home, a garage or attic is not a pain anymore.

Don't put it in the attic. If you put it in the attic, the FBI will break everything on every floor of your house before they find it.

This is not a battle that will end when you propose, but rather will morph. A minority of sociopaths want to control what the majority of normal humans do. They will stop at nothing to assert and preserve that control. So if everyone bails on YouTube and starts up their own websites, the ones that succeed in garnering a lot of traffic and influence will be targeted at different levels. Their payment processors will be attacked and forced to de-platform them (that's already happened to a few). Their ISPs will be attacked and forced to de-platform them. TLDs will be denied. Et cetera.

If the Left have abandoned the basic premise of the Freedom of Speech, which they used to defend adamantly, then there really is nothing left to do but actual fighting.

Freedom of speech has always had limits, even in the United States with its expansive case law on the First Amendment.

      Copyright
Freedom to respeak others' expression of a particular idea is limited to commenting on fragments of said expression, as a means to subsidize creation of original works of authorship.
      Defamation
There is less freedom to speak material falsehoods about a person with the intent of harming that person.
      Incitement to hate crime
There is less freedom to encourage violence against people based on ethnicity, gender, or disability.

This is that which cannot be allowed, because it is so subjective and unevenly applied. I don't approve of hate crimes. I don't have any interest in the KKK or the neo-Nazis, but I very much like that the American commitment to the freedom of speech has always been so strong, so expansive, that even they can speak.

Moving away from that commitment is exactly what has put us on this very dangerous path to censorship.

The Establishment has unilaterally scrapped the Fourth Amendment. Now it's going after the First and Second Amendments very hard. Those are the core of American freedom, which means they're going for its jugular.

You know what I hate? Yes, it is those aiding and abetting bastards like Phoenix666. "Oh, I don't approve of racism, white supremacism, or KKK, or Nazies!" Fuck you don't, you complicit bastard! It is neo-nazi collaborating scum like this that needs to be hunted down, dismembered in the public square, have the body parts sent to the four quarters, and their facebook account suspended. How is that "American" free speech working out for you now, phoneix? Now that we are coming, for YOU!!!!

(disclaimer, no actual violence or dismemberment is being incited here, this is just an exercise in hypothetical free speech.)

I don't see how that's possible if the home ISP serving your city blocks incoming TCP connections [nesdev.com] or disconnects users with substantial incoming traffic or both. I guess someone could buy a 1U rack-mountable server and lease 1U of colocation space in a datacenter, but I doubt a substantial number of hobbyist home users can afford the cost of that route. (A leased VPS on someone else's computer isn't quite "a computer you own and control.")
