Boris Johnson has been elected new Conservative leader in a ballot of party members and will become the next UK prime minister.

He beat Jeremy Hunt comfortably, winning 92,153 votes to his rival's 46,656.

The former London mayor takes over from Theresa May on Wednesday.

In his victory speech, Mr Johnson promised he would "deliver Brexit, unite the country and defeat Jeremy Corbyn".

Speaking at the Queen Elizabeth II centre in London, he said: "We are going to energise the country.

"We are going to get Brexit done on 31 October and take advantage of all the opportunities it will bring with a new spirit of can do.

"We are once again going to believe in ourselves, and like some slumbering giant we are going to rise and ping off the guy ropes of self doubt and negativity."

    That there were Jewish persons involved in banking, no doubt. That some Jews had reached prominence (Rothschilds / whatever), fine. That they were "controlling" the banks: Antisemitic horseshit at its finest. However, it is true that wealth was confiscated from Jews as they were led to the gas chambers, yep.     Jews were extremely disadvantaged and banking was one of the few professions open to them. The ones that didn't have the skills for it starved to death, at least didn't have children, and this rapidly evolved their gene pool toward higher average intelligence than the more accepted/supported members of society.

    Why society would open banking to a scorned group I don't pretend to understand, that's just how the history has been quoted to me.

    Education offered by AC will be cheerfully ignored.

      As I understand it, it stemmed from medieval times or before...there was a time when Christians took the prohibition on usury seriously (i know, i know, *gasp*-shock-horror...you'd never fuckin' know with how things are these days, huh?). I guess they figured "Jews are going to spend eternity in Hell anyway for believing wrong, so we may as well make them our usurers, because while Jesus hates him some usury you have to admit it makes society work."

      That kind of backfired, didn't it?
