The corporate I work for got sick of Oracle's licensing nonsense.
The rumour is that the Asia-Pacific region spent about US$25 million per year, so goodness knows how much the US and Europe spent.
We are about one year into a 3 year replacement project, so getting rid of Oracle is possible but not easy and I'm glad I'm not involved.
I wonder what future Oracle has? They don't seem to have any happy customers, just hostages.

when Larry retires or dies. Look at the rollercoaster AMD's been on since Jerry Sanders (he of the infamous 'JERRYSANDERSJERRYSANDERSJERRYSANDERS'-bespoke-pinstriped suits) retired.

We are 2 years into a project to remove Oracle.
Mostly.
At least reduce our dependency on it to the absolute minimum.
