"Trump hasn't done anything bad, and the people love him, but... democrats."

Trump hasn't done anything bad?!? What rock have you been hiding under? And, as a US citizen, I despise Trump. And I have never been registered Democrat.

I'm just curious though. Are you a US citizen? Are you in the employ of a foreign government? If so, which one (s)? Just wondering.

Hmm, seems like a person named "Nigel", a Brexiteer, or a person named Ivan, a Russian member of the NRA. Or, it is Kellyanne or Kaileigh or Tomi or Ivanka, or Laura Ingraham, or Ann Coulter, or that other Blonde [theguardian.com], The Donald.

Did I ever share the blonde joke I know? They found a blonde dead in the shower. Complete mystery until they read the instructions on the shampoo. "Apply, lather, rinse, repeat." No end statement. Blonde caught in an infinite loop! If only she had been running linux, since Linus has said that linux can run infinite loops in 4 seconds. Blondes, not so much.

I loved this little bit, finding out Kellyanne knows what she is doing is horrible makes me at least respect her as "not a fucking moron".

Get real -- if foreign agents are trying to influence public opinion by posting AC comments on Soylent -- that's one hell of an incompetent foreign propaganda agency!

The sore losers of 2016 have been trained by the media that it was not the people voting against someone who called them deplorables that got Trump elected, but evil Russians behind every corner, poisoning our precious bodily fluids on Facebook, mind controlling the deplorables to vote for Trump.

Incorrect, you apparently don't understand how grassroots campaigns work. SN is actually a massive target specifically because of its smaller userbase and "street cred" of being a community by techies for techies. Being smaller makes it easier to turn into an echo chamber. But hey, you're one of the ones spewing garbage so like Trump you're either a hidden agent or useful idiot. Don't feel bad, about 1/4 of the US are being used as useful idiots but hey you have us liberals trying to make things better for ourselves AND you.

Don't mistake straightforward telling it like it is for hatred. Republicans have been abused by massive propaganda campaigns affecting our friends and family. I see Republicans being stand up citizens, helping their communities and being responsible adults. So you will be forgiven for your blunders once you can see how you are being abused by your "leaders."

You mistake me for a Republican. And if you think average people care what their local geek posts on a niche-of-niches type website (*), you've bought the into the HRC-fans' sour grapes too much.

(*) It's been my experience that most people are only interested in the geek perspective when and to the extent that, they need something to work or want some magic performed, and once done, they don't care. We are tools and nothing more. It has taken me decades to understand that when I do something neat or make something work or build something that makes a job incredibly more efficient, I'm not socializing. It feels like it to me but to the vast bulk of people it means nothing at all, even if it actually makes their life or work better.

most people are only interested in the geek perspective when...

Ok you're a geek. You know what Shodan is? Soylent is on the equivalents of Shodan for forums. There are over 100 posters, and live updates (user posts) > 100 day, making it a small population but a /very/ active forum, as they go. So nationsize actors DO catch soylent in their shotgun propaganda, and DO have automated tools to make it all easier. I suggest you go check out the tool suites used by comment farms in China in particular. It's no longer textfiles being copy-pasted with human manual intervention like in 2011 (https://www.technologyreview.com/s/426174/undercover-researchers-expose-chinese-internet-water-army/#.TswIPuLKgw0.twitter) but rather more like running an automated test suite harness with prompting and places to manually override/insert. It's amazingly efficient.

So it's not that nobody is interested - apart from a few high profile individuals we're pretty low on the radar - it's that we're bycatch. And you're wrong to think that bycatch will make it through unscathed!

You can be a US citizen and hate Trump, but that makes you a self-hating US citizen. Why do you hate America?

If I think really hard, I can come up with bad things Trump has done. He signed the law to ban bumpstocks. He appointed Sessions. He seems to have decided to let Hillary get away with her crimes, along with the rest of the Obama administration.

Well, that's all I could come up with.

I guess I could demand more. I wish Trump were more Trumpy. We should ban more people from coming to the USA. We should build more walls, with mile-wide minefields between them. We need a wall to stop jihadi snow Mexicans. We should actively hunt down all illegals and harshly enforce the laws against aiding them. We need to enforce English language everywhere. We should be competitive with China regarding workplace and environmental laws. We should cut our cost of living to be more like India or China, ditching regulations that drive up costs.

You know, if you don't share that vision, you can move to Sweden or Germany. If you really want to be all multicultural and diverse, LOL, nothing is stopping you from moving to Africa even. Do it. You'll be so happy, and you can savor the thought of how I'll miss you so much.
