Arthur T Knackerbracket has found the following story:

Apple is removing all vaping apps from its online store.

It said it had taken the decision because of growing official concerns about the impact vaping can have on health.

In the US, 42 deaths and more than 2,100 cases of lung injury have been linked to a respiratory illness tied to vaping.

Apple's decision means a total of 181 apps will not be available on iPhones, reports tech news site Axios.

In a statement given to Axios, Apple said it agreed with official warnings about the negative health impacts of vaping and the potential problem presented by the appeal of e-cigarettes to the young.

It said it took "great care" to ensure that the app store was a place people could trust to get programs for their iPhone.

Some seem a bit silly, but there are some that calculate proportions for people wanting to mix their own. That is, given unflavored nicotine at 100mg/ml, a target nicotine level (expressed as mg/ml) and a desired % by volume of flavoring, how much nicotine, flavoring, and glycerin should be mixed to yield a desired amount of vape juice.

Not a complex calculation, but some people need the hand holding.

Personally, I rarely bother with even the pencil and paper. Since you called me a dumbass, let's try a practical. I have unflavored nicotine at 100mg/ml. I want 15% flavoring (by volume) in 150ml of juice at 30mg/ml. Please show your work.

Then ask your mom and dad to do it.

What the hell is a vaping app?

I asked myself the same question.

    According to Axios [axios.com]:

What's happening: The company has never allowed the sale of vape cartridges directly from apps. But there were apps that let people control the temperature and lighting of their vape pens, and others provided vaping-related news, social networks and games.

    • Apple has been headed in this direction since June, when it stopped accepting new apps that promote vaping.
    • Those who already have a vaping-related app on their iPhone will be able to continue using the app and install it on new devices.
