Unpatched US government website gets pwned by pro-Iran script kiddie:

On the heels of the killing of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps General Qassem Soleimani by a US MQ-9 Reaper strike on January 2, the US Department of Homeland Security warned of potential cyberattacks against critical infrastructure by Iran. That warning probably didn't apply to the website of the Federal Deposit Library Program, operated by the US Government Printing Office—which was defaced on January 4 with a pro-Iranian message and an image of a bloodied President Donald Trump being punched by an Iranian fist.

The FDLP website is no stranger to defacement attacks. As a brief analysis of the attack by a security researcher with the Twitter username @sshell_ noted, the site has been defaced twice in the last 10 years—most recently in 2014, when it was replaced with an electronic dance music video featuring a dancing cat. Based on a fingerprint of the site's files, the site—based on the Joomla content management system—had not had its code updated since 2012. And the site had modules that used a version of Joomla's RSForm that had been flagged 11 months ago as being vulnerable to a SQL Injection attack.

While the image depicting Trump had no metadata attached to it, another image with text had Exchangeable Image File Format (EXIF) data indicating it had been created with Adobe Photoshop CS 6 for Windows in 2015. As sshell_ noted, the image was used in a defacement reported to the "cybercrime archive" Zone-H by a user identifying themselves as IRAN-CYBER on December 2, 2015.

The same kind of pics that circulated since Trump retired from the nuclear deal I guess.

It is undisputable that the USA is the bully of the neighborhood, but you have to pick only one:
    - feeling outraged at an unwarranted attack
    - burn flags and taunt the prez "casino owner... Come and get us... We are men unlike you"(Gen. Suleimani, 2018)

the USA is the bully of the neighborhood,

The USA is more like a pyromaniac fireman, starting fires around the world, pretending to be the hero putting them out and playing the victim when burnt.

or they could be doing some much needed back burning to prevent apocalyptic fires like Australia is now finding out.

I don't need to pick sides because from the outside, both sides show an element of evil.

I miss the days when (aside from the CIA) the US was often seen as the good guy.

Where those days real, or was that just want I learned in school?

It was just what you learned in school, and were fed by the media.
Basically every country is ruled by an elite which wastes the lives of its peasants in meaningless conflicts. These elites have far more in common with each other than with their 'citizens'. They may not be literally lizard people, but the sentiment that expresses that difference is not wrong.

Read again, the choice is not yours to pick sides, it's Arab's. They either follow up on their macho stance and stop complaining, or they stop their flag burning and act as victims. The state that strikes you after you burn its flag is at war with you and in wars you kill the enemy. They even took the page from the USA book of propaganda and called them "terrorist".

Anyway as a fellow mediterranean I know how the guys think, chiagni e futti, slang for "play the victim and steal away". So it's not gonna change.

Iraq has already picked sides. Their first response to the death of the Iranian general was "all American military has to leave the country", followed by "all foreign military must leave". Forgetting that the Iranian general was a foreign soldier in the first place.

But you're right, playing the victim is indeed very common in some cultures.
