A UK supermarket has banned the use of money that was stored in shoes and bras as part of the effort to reign in the spread of COVID-19. Among other strange facts coming out of this outbreak is that some people lick their money before handing it over to the cashier.
We are doomed.

They finally have a good argument to force society to go cashless and track the shit out of 100% of the people with electronic payments.

Actually, it took the COVID-19 scare for cashiers in Greece to figure out that contactless transactions are supposed to be made by having the customer wave their card over the POS terminal. Up until a few days ago, cashiers would take my card and ask me whether I wanted to make a contactless transaction or whether I wanted to enter my PIN. As a consequence, credit cards are probably as unsanitary as banknotes, and promoting their use as a more sanitary option will only cause laughter.
