A UK supermarket has banned the use of money that was stored in shoes and bras as part of the effort to reign in the spread of COVID-19. Among other strange facts coming out of this outbreak is that some people lick their money before handing it over to the cashier.
We are doomed.

Alcohol or soapy water is a good disinfectant for COVID-19 and most other corona virus, and many others. So store your money in a flask of vodka. Getting at it, however, might require that you drink the vodka.
FWIW, reports are that the virus can survive for days on stainless steel, less time on copper, but still a long time. But soapy water, alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide, even a pretty weak solution (I think 0.1%) will deactivate it quickly. The bottle of H2O2 I got at the store said it was a 3% solution, but the stuff isn't stable, so it's probably better to figure it's a 2% solution. So 20 parts of water to 1 part of H2O2 solution should work.
