Arthur T Knackerbracket has found the following story:

The San Francisco Bay Area is in lockdown to fight the spread of the coronavirus. Under a "shelter in place" order announced Monday, people in seven Bay Area counties are prohibited from leaving their homes except for essential activities like visiting the doctor or buying food.

Tesla's Fremont car factory is in Alameda County, which is participating in the lockdown. But Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been defiant. In a Monday evening email, he told employees that they could stay home from work if they felt sick. However, he wrote, "I will personally be at work" on Tuesday.

But late on Tuesday, the Alameda County Sheriff's office fired a shot across Tesla's bow:

Alameda County's Monday order directed businesses in the county to "cease all activities at facilities located within the County except Minimum Basic Operations"—like processing payroll.

[...] Tesla's stock plunged on news that Tesla could be forced to shut down its Fremont factory. As of publication time, Tesla's stock is down more than 11 percent at $380. That's down from a high above $900 the stock hit just last month—before the economic impact of the coronavirus became clear.

Other car stocks are also being hit hard. Ford's stock is down 12 percent, while GM's stock has fallen 21 percent since Tuesday's close.

[...] But American automakers are hoping to keep running their factories in the United States. On Wednesday, Detroit's Big Three automakers announced tentative deals with the United Auto Workers to continue manufacturing. Under the deals, carmakers will reduce operating hours to provide more time for deep cleaning between shifts. They will also take measures to increase the physical distance between workers—though details about this remain to be worked out.

In other words, you want one thing, most people want another. So the way to ignore their wants is to label them "sociopathic".

Sorry, this is a democracy. Society has to consider everyones' wants, even the allegedly sociopathic people, not merely consider your wants.

Then we'll do that. Sucks to be you.

But having said that, your remarkable ongoing inability to describe what "evil" people supposedly want, indicates to me that you are completely full of shit. I don't take moral advice from bullshitters.

He could be either trolling or legitimately mentally ill. When you're depressed, paranoid, or in some other state the world and its people all seem wrong somehow. His world view seems rather dark. As Jim Morrison sang, People are strange, when you're a stranger. Faces look ugly, when you're alone. Women seem wicked, when you're unwanted. Streets are uneven when you're down.

Back at you on that one. The "let's shutdown all capital transactions because I don't like it" plan requires far more unicorns and pixie dust than what's presently in place.

There ya go again, always making shit up... No one (except you) ever hinted at shutting down "all capital transactions", not even close. Payroll for the hourly workers still has to flow, regardless what happens to Wall Street. The government has to see to it, and it has to silence the bill collectors, or it is a failure. But this is how you bullshitters do things. You talk bullshit, and unfortunately, people believe you. Majority rule is showing its fatal flaws. It will end you. It will end all of us if we let it.

Majority rule is showing its fatal flaws. It will end you. It will end all of us if we let it.

I'm not surprised that someone who can't see the use of stock markets, now can't see the use of democracy.

Payroll for the hourly workers still has to flow, regardless what happens to Wall Street.

Payroll isn't capital. People have started businesses off of what they have saved and invested, but they had to work to convert wages to capital. Meanwhile, stock markets' primary role remains the trading and pricing of capital. Ending these markets would end one of the primary means for capital transactions.

As to your complaint about majority rule, there's two things to note. First, the absence of a reason for other people to support your position. There's just this vague talk of "crimes" and such. Second, by proposing the destruction of various rights, you're already attacking one of the biggest constraints on majority rule.

I meanwhile noted that markets play a useful role, that it's not your business what the participants do as long as they don't harm others (you claim they cause harm and theft, but never mention how), and finally that the same games you would use to destroy such markets can also be used against you (with your disregard for human rights and democratic majority rule indicating you have even thought the least bit about this subject).
