Bosses Panic-Buy Spy Software to Keep Tabs on Remote Workers
Phones are ringing off the hook at companies providing a bit of Big Brother.

The email came from the boss.

We're watching you, it told Axos Financial Inc. employees working from home. We're capturing your keystrokes. We're logging the websites you visit. Every 10 minutes or so, we're taking a screen shot.

So get to work — or face the consequences.

Employers justify going full Orwell by saying that monitoring curbs security breaches, which can be expensive, and helps keep the wheels of commerce turning.

Breaches can result in disciplinary action up to and greatly in excess of mere termination.

    As compared to the low paying jobs you can get with a college degree? At least you're four years of wages ahead.

    I'm a software developer without a degree making more than most of my peers in my area who do have degrees. Apparently, he thinks that every employer in existence requires degrees...

    But yes, everyone should run out and get degrees. It's not like that will make credentialism and degree inflation worse, further decreasing the utility of those degrees.
