Air pollution linked to dementia and cardiovascular disease:

The number of people living with dementia is projected to triple in the next 30 years. No curative treatment has been identified and the search for modifiable risk and protective factors remains a public health priority. Recent studies have linked both cardiovascular disease and air pollution to the development of dementia, but findings on the air pollution-link have been scarce and inconsistent.

In this study, the researchers examined the link between long-term exposure to air pollution and dementia and what role cardiovascular diseases play in that association. Almost 3,000 adults with an average age of 74 and living in the Kungsholmen district in central Stockholm were followed for up to 11 years. Of those, 364 people developed dementia. The annual average level of particulate matter 2.5 microns or less in width (PM2.5) are considered low compared to international standards.

"Interestingly, we were able to establish harmful effects on human health at levels below current air pollution standards," says first author Giulia Grande, researcher at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society at Karolinska Institutet. "Our findings suggest air pollution does play a role in the development of dementia, and mainly through the intermediate step of cardiovascular disease and especially stroke."

I am upset that Trump relaxed the EPA standards and overturned some good sane environmental laws during his presidency (ie the one(s) Obama passed like the water protection law. It's like he rolled that back just to spite Obama and for no other reason other than the fact that Obama passed it. Petty). While I am not a democrat and I am a strong believer in free market capitalism there are a few exceptions. One of them is the environment. Free markets assume individuals and businesses act in their own best interest and that means they don't care about the interests of the environment. The environment is important and someone needs to ensure that its interests are considered. That someone has to be the government.

The problem is that Biden is a crook. Trump is incompetent and Biden is a crook. The corrupt (pro IP) media wanted Biden from the beginning because he's their puppet. CNN pretty much seems to consider Biden a saint and that is far from the truth. He is corrupt and until CNN can acknowledge this I will not take them seriously on the matter.

It sickens me. Even though I am not a democrat I kinda wanted a different president. But I would have preferred any of the other candidates over Biden. Instead the media pretty much chose Biden and most of the other candidates that dropped out endorsed him. I guess they are just as bought as he is.

I don't want Trump to remain president. But I don't want Biden to take his place either. I can't decide which evil is worse.

US Presidents do not pass law and this [cnbc.com] wasn't a law. And I think it a valuable lesson for you to learn that what one president does, another can undo. As to the alleged reason above? It's a good reason. I'm fine with most of Obama's tricks getting reversed. It was dumb letting him get away with ruling by decree in the first place.
