South African developer Jonathan Carter will be the leader of the Debian GNU/Linux project for the next year, after he defeated the two other contenders in the race, according to the results which were declared on Sunday.

Carter was up against Sruthi Chandran, who was bidding to become the first female leader of the project, and Brian Gupta, a member of the project for the last seven years.

Carter had cited the need for better publicity, getting more feedback to ease up issues that contributors faced and better visibility and transparency about funds received and how they were spent in his election platform.

[...] Debian is one of the few free software projects that holds elections. It has done so since it was set up in 1993 by the late Ian Murdock.

You Bernie Bros are as bad as the MAGA crowd. If it doesn't turn out the way you want, the system was obviously and deliberately stacked against your guy! And not only stacked against by regular folk, but by some sort of nebulous "deep Democrat" system.

This is just the humble opinion of this moderate unaffiliated voter, but I am not too unhappy that we aren't going to have to face the choice of the cult of personality from the left vs. the cult of personality from the right.

Believe it or not, but some of us moderates ACTUALLY WANT A MODERATE this time around, especially one who can be the grownup in the room and not yell down opposing views. We don't want to gamble that your guy can beat the idiot in charge, and we sure as hell don't need a "revolution."

How the hell were you looking at the primary results? Once all the moderate candidates but one dropped out, a tidal wave of votes went to Biden. This isn't some stupid "power elite" move that kept your boy or Warren out, this is the bulk of the party saying we don't want Trump 2.0, because that is what you'd get if it was Trump v. Sanders.

lol know they audience dipshit, the person you're responding to is a canadian libertarian I believe

If you would pay attention to the news coverage and the investigations of such you would find out that the media made a coordinated effort to block out Sanders. In 2016 the DNC literally stole the primary votes using super delegates. They even went so far as to color Bernie's face red in news shows to make him look more angry and unhinged.

So you can fuck right off with your ignorant "muh centrism" bullshit. I will be voting Biden to get Trump the fuck out, but you should really do your homework before spouting off like an ignorant boomer. Also, tone trolling because you don't like that someone is mad about something? The fuck is wrong with you? Get over yourself.

If you don't suport Universal Healthcare then you're just a conservative that has come around to admitting Trump is trash. How you like them stereotapples?
