Facebook to pay $52m to moderators over PTSD:

Facebook has agreed to pay $52m (£42m) to content moderators as compensation for mental health issues developed on the job.

The agreement settles a class-action lawsuit brought by the moderators, as first reported by The Verge.

Facebook said it is using both humans and artificial intelligence (AI) to detect posts that violate policies.

The social media giant has increased its use of AI to remove harmful content during the coronavirus lockdown.

In 2018, a group of US moderators hired by third-party companies to review content sued Facebook for failing to create a safe work environment.

The moderators alleged that reviewing violent and graphic images - sometimes of rape and suicide - for the social network had led to them developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The agreement, filed in court in California on Friday, settles that lawsuit. A judge is expected to sign off on the deal later this year.

About 30 million Americans just became unemployed. They can trade one form of PTSD for another.

The real problem is probably not the viewing of gore, it's that moderators are getting redpilled from all those videos of Blacks beating up Whites and looking at all the image macros showing the over-representation of Jews in the Media and government power-players. They've seen too much unofficial evidence regarding who really did 9/11, and wonder why they are ordered to remove Alex Jones links in posts.

They begin to realize slowly that they are working for the enemy, and that the curation they perform is indicative of their own online future in which ever-increasing numbers of reasonable voices will be suppressed.

I read somewhere that some big tech company, maybe even Facebook itself, had a "redpill deprogramming" part of their training which is basically China-style reeducation. Couldn't find the link but maybe one of you can earn a mod point or two posting it.
