The Trump administration has officially begun to withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization, even as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to grip the globe and infections spike in many states across the U.S.
Congress received formal notification of the decision on Tuesday, more than a month after President Donald Trump announced his intention to end the U.S. relationship with the WHO and blasted the multilateral institution as a tool of China. The White House said the withdrawal would take effect on July 6, 2021.

RS simply told us that he had met a nurse who had a long history with the Red Cross and thought they were a bunch of crooks. Now, you are absolutely within your rights to disagree with him. But a "Flamebait" mod? Triggered much, are you? Maybe after you have stopped hyperventilating you can give us a fuller explanation on the "Flamebait" mod.

Thank you, but what pisses me off: what is there to disagree with? If someone doesn't believe my story, for whatever reason, grow up and move along. How was it in any way "flamebait"???
The deal is: there are some very triggered angry people on this board who only see posts as absolute truth or absolute troll/flamebait. There's no possibility of someone just posting their opinion. And what I posted was NOT my opinion. I even SAID SO. Someone trolls me here. A kindly wise soylenter told me that I've arrived when I have a personal troll.
If it was up to me, I'd man up and clean up this place and block them for life. But I don't have the power, so there's no manning up to be done. My idea is there should be an appeal system, and a panel of judges (admins) who would simply vote on whether or not a post really is troll or flamebait. Oh, wait a minute, if someone abuses "spam" mod, they lose mod points for a month! So you see, SN really does sometimes have a rules and punishment system in place.
I had suggested something like that several weeks ago and yep, got lots of whining. I'll be very happy to be a judge here. The whining was childish- this place would be cleaned up very fast. I'd bet there are only a very few people doling out the downmod abuse.
As I've said, there are mostly truly awesome people here, and only a few angry triggered jerks bringing the whole place down like a fart in an elevator.

BTW, I notice many posts negative toward the Red Cross with no downmod, and mine gets the downmod. Well, at least I can eliminate those posters from my downmod hit-list.
