BBC:

US Attorney General William Barr has accused Hollywood and US tech firms of "collaborating" with the Chinese government to do business there.

Companies like Disney routinely agreed to censor films while Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and Apple were "all too willing" to work with Beijing, he said.

Such actions risked undermining the liberal world order, Mr Barr added.

His intervention is the latest criticism of China by White House and other US officials.

Tensions between the US and China have been rising over a host of issues. The US this week removed Hong Kong's preferential trade status, after China brought in a controversial new security law for the territory.

Does working with China mean freedoms are undermined elsewhere?

Imagine if, instead of making a stink about what China was doing in Hong Kong, it was about what Israel was doing in Gaza or the west bank.

(BTW, I just noticed that the BDSMovement has a bit of acronym collision going on...)

Israel isn't sucking up every last manufacturing job our traitorous multinational corporation class can figure out how to export.

I tried to buy a travel mug today that was not made in China today. The closest I could get was a Thailand made Zojirushi. The job exporting traitors exist in all first world countries but it is ridiculously short sighted. An overpriced Yeti "designed in SomeState, Made in China" cup, is just a harbinger of its future bankruptcy because the OOHappyJoyful brand will cost 1/3 and having learned how to make nice cups and packaging, nobody will care for Yeti.

The media is falling all over itself to protect China for some short term profit just like our manufacturers have been doing. These companies are basically exporting the wealth America built up over the centuries, to pocket a large percentage of it themselves and they owe no allegiance to anyone or anyplace. Mass homelessness, poverty, and strife are our future when the middle class is gone, and with Chinese propaganda convincing the gullible masses that squandering our achievements is social justice or some such crap, we'll go down the drain singing songs.

The stainless insulated cups are made in China and decorated in America.

That is most unfortunate. The original insulated plastic cups still say made in USA.

That's what I'll get -- not so happy about plastic but it is what it is. There's a real problem when we've designed the way our economy works so that we can't make a cup -- this is stamped metal not rocket science.
