TikTok plans to sue Trump administration over US ban

TikTok plans to sue the Trump administration over its executive order banning transactions between U.S. companies and the popular video-sharing app as well as its Chinese parent company, ByteDance.

"Even though we strongly disagree with the Administration's concerns, for nearly a year we have sought to engage in good faith to provide a constructive solution," a TikTok spokesperson told The Hill. "What we encountered instead was a lack of due process as the Administration paid no attention to facts and tried to insert itself into negotiations between private businesses," the spokesperson continued. "To ensure that the rule of law is not discarded and that our company and users are treated fairly, we have no choice but to challenge the Executive Order through the judicial system," the spokesperson added.

As much as I hate Trump, it's both amusing and sickening to me that a company with ties to the Communist Party of China is talking about the rule of law and due process.
I hope someone brings that up in court, just to stick a finger in their eye.

It's their country, their rule of law. Their country, their due process. How about you bitch at *your* country and *your* rule of law?

I sincerely hope that your post allows you to return to being able to take your daily bus from Shenzhen to Huizhou.

I have not seen a person on this site who does not complain about the US's issues with rule of law, but there is not a reason to repeat these complaints when we are specifically talking about abuses by the CCP.

Except for that *really* annoying bit about justice being equal for all, and bringing CCP justice into this is about the biggest ad hominem and strawman combined into one that I think I've seen lately.
Why not just blame them for China Virus and make that the reason they don't deserve an equal voice in the justice system?

Don't act like you care about justice or rule of law, you've never even known it.
Nobody said they didn't deserve an equal voice, you pulled that out of your ass. But, it does mean their sincerity should be taken with a grain of salt, as they haven't exactly done anything to help human rights and justice.

Name a major corporation *without* ties to the Chinese Communist Party. Basically every manufacturer and retailer depends on them, and they know it.

Yes, I hope that someone brings that up in court as well. For that will reveal the racist and ageist pretext that this sham order is actually built on.
