Compound may magnetically outperform neodymium magnets:
NIMS and Tohoku Gakuin University have developed a boron-doped anisotropic Sm(Fe0.8Co0.2)12 thin film containing only small amount of rare earth elements. The compound exhibited 1.2 tesla coercivity, sufficient for use in automotive electric motors. This was achieved by creating a unique granular nanostructure in which Sm(Fe0.8Co0.2)12 grains are uniformly enveloped by an amorphous grain boundary phase approximately 3 nm in thickness. This compound exhibited superior magnetic properties to that of Nd-Fe-B based magnets even when processed into a thin film.
Demand for green technologies that can help to reduce CO2 emissions (e.g., electric motors for environmentally friendly vehicles and wind power generation) has been growing, leading to rapidly increasing demand for the high-performance permanent magnets needed for these technologies. The Nd-Fe-B based sintered magnets currently in use are composed not only of the rare earth element neodymium but also a heavy rare earth element: dysprosium. Because of the geopolitical risks associated with the acquisition of these materials, development of new magnets that do not rely on the scarce elements is desirable.
It is hoped the compound can supply green technologies with less geopolitical risk than neodymium magnets.

People - even you Ari - can express themselves as they wish in their journal, providing that they do not break any applicable laws. The editors have no role to play in the content of journals. The site is not responsible for whatever is written in members' journals, nor do we support any particular viewpoints expressed therein. If you wish to criticise the content of a journal do so in that journal please.
You believe that Runaway has extreme views, but you too have extreme views. You just happen to be on opposing sides. Or are you arguing that we should have also closed down your journal when you started posting your own views in it?

Come, now, Jani, you know that is not true! My positions are extremely moderate. Liberal democratic on politics, moderately idealist on metaphysics, and provably atheistic on religion. Nothing like the Fox News driven madness of some Americans. Of course, most of them are totally ignorant of philosophy, and passably ignorant of science, and completely ignorant of literature and art, and mostly ignorant of technology. And as you well know you have, in earlier posts, advocated that some of those you object to should 'be shot'. Does that sound like an 'extremely moderate' expression of how someone should be treated? In a more temperate moment, referring to people that you again disliked, you encouraged community members to simply 'punch them in the face'. Both those submissions were rejected for the extremist views they advocated.
Apologise to you? - your problem is that your memory is failing. When you criticise Runaway for his extremist views it is a perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black. While you may have moderated some of your more recent posts you seem to have forgotten your transgressions of only a few years ago. I haven't.
You can stick your claims of having 'extremely moderate' positions where the sun don't shine.

Shot, maybe, but not killed! And not "people I disagree with"?, only Nazis, which is an extremely moderate position, considering they are actual, even if "neo" Nazis. You overreact at my rhetorical mirroring of calls for violence, and you, of all people, with your background, should be aware of my moderate extremeness.
