CNET has a quick video podcast [flash required] on a few new technologies that are coming out. Read on for links to the individual stories.

[More after the break]

First up is a rather critical review of the Apple Watch that's being sold on Friday, calling out its battery life and price ($350-$17,000 USD). Next, Skype is expanding their in-session automatic translation service to include both Italian and Mandarin (previously limited to Spanish and English). Teaching a computer to translate between western languages and Mandarin Chinese is impressive in my opinion. They also mention Amazon Echo, and how a new update will allow it to control some of the devices around your home. GMeet is also mentioned, but from what I understand it's still just a rumor.

Personally I refuse to buy a laptop with a camera in it just so I can avoid all these video conferences

Just say it's broken.. perhaps from leftover adhesive from the camera tape blocker? Or it got electrostatic "oops". Sorry I got the conference software Vax 11/780 meetconference v0.51 seems it's incompatible.. horror! ;)

However it seems people that all the time needs realtime interaction suffer from mental squirting that they must involve others in. Rather than doing some thinking before interacting.
