    The prediciton that a computer would solve a mathematical problem that was too hard for humans, with a proof that was too large for humans to check was made in 1976 by Kenneth Appel and Wolfgang Haken. Just before they typed [R] [U] [N] [return].

        That prediction was only finally written down in 1978. I wonder if one had some influence on the other.
