From Ars Technica:

On Saturday the New York Times reported that "senior American officials briefed on the investigation" confirmed a hack of the White House's unclassified network last year. The breach "was far more intrusive and worrisome than has been publicly acknowledged," officials said, telling the Times that the perpetrators were likely Russians with ties to the government, if not with direct backing from Russia.

The White House's classified network, on which message traffic from President Obama's Blackberry is kept, was not breached, but e-mails he sent to the unclassified network from that device (as well as e-mails sent from that network to him) were obtained.

The Times noted that many senior staffers have two computers in their offices: "one operating on a highly secure classified network and another connected to the outside world for unclassified communications." The most highly secure material shared between "the White House, the State Department, the Pentagon, and intelligence communities" is kept on a system called Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS), which was not breached. JWICS also gives access to the front-end for XKeyscore, a system that collects, manages, and processes the massive amounts of data collected by the NSA.

The White House discovered the breach in October 2014 and partially shut down the unclassified e-mail system until the end of the month when system administrators were sure that the hackers no longer had access to the system.

No points for you. Although the mainstream media invariably fastens on the wrong poster boys - there really is a serious problem here, with the cops out of control, and basically answering to no one.

The guy in Baltimore was killed for running from the cops. They had no reason to chase him, other than he was running. It's not even clear WHY he was running. In effect, it was "That nigga's running, let's take him down!"

Two young black men were killed in Ohio, for no other reason than being black. One wasn't even a man yet, Tamir Rice, twelve years old, playing alone in the park with a toy gun. Cops didn't make any attempt to defuse a situation that didn't even exist - they drove up and gunned him down. Twelve years old. Another, John Crawfor, was shopping for toys among other things, and was gunned down for carrying a pellet gun that he picked up off of a Walmart shelf.

Other people are gunned down for equally stupid reasons, but the black community bears the brunt of this nonsense.

That said - I despise MSM for making a martyr of that sick son of a bitch, Michael Brown, in St. Louis. That one needed to be gunned down. He got exactly what he was looking for.

If he didn't run, he would be alive today. But no, he had to act like a thug and got what he deserved. I have a feeling this is going to happen more often, idiots thinking they can become famous by evading cops even if they didn't do anything wrong.

Fleeing and evading should never have become felonies, in and of themselves. Fleeing, evading, and eluding cops should be nothing more than a misdemeanor, and a circumstance to consider during a trial for a real felony.

If a cop wants to talk to me, it is NOT MY DUTY to cooperate with him. I can run, hide, whatever, with or without good reason for doing so. Fact is - I HAVE run from the cops. It's thrilling. There are few adrenalin rushes greater than blowing past a cop going faster than his cruiser can possibly go. Two-wheeled thunder - and I don't mean any Harley Davidson. I've never witnessed a Harley running over 100 mph, let alone the speeds necessary to outrun a police cruiser.

You think it's just fine and dandy that a cop should be permitted to gun me down for driving faster than he can? Is that what you really think?

Well, I hope you enjoy the police state that is coming, because that is what you are justifying.

Based on what, exactly? The only evidence I've heard against him was that he robbed a store -- and the owner of that store has stated in interviews that *he was never robbed*!

Somehow - Brown got halfway through the window of the police cruiser. Now - you can believe, if you like, that the cop PULLED Brown into the cruiser, so that he could shoot Brown. But, the idea is so preposterous that I won't even entertain the idea. What happened was, Brown DOVE through that window, and tried to subdue the cop, tried to take the cop's gun. When the gun went off, Brown ran. After several steps running, Brown turned around, and instead of conforming to the cop's demands, he RAN BACK AT THE COP!!

Oh, the store owner says he was never robbed? Then, WTF did he file a police report? WHY DID HE CALL THE COPS?!?!?!

Someone is smoking some baaaad, baaaad, BAAAAAAAAAAAD shit here - and it ain't me.

He didn't. A customer called the cops to report they *thought* they saw someone shoplifting. Just like so many of the others...

Even if all of that is true, it still does not warrant extrajudicial execution after the fact. If he had been killed hanging out the cop car window I'd say you might have a point, but he wasn't. Wilson had plenty of other options. On the other hand, officer Wilson justifies the killing by saying that he began firing at Brown when Brown was 15 feet away. He claims Brown was "charging" towards him until he stopped firing. We have audio recordings of those shots showing that Wilson fired ten shots over 6.5 seconds. So Brown was apparently "charging" at 1-2MPH? "Charging" at half the speed of a painfully slow walk? Also remember that they didn't even call an ambulance after he was shot....
