These are probably weighted towards areas with high costs of living. If you go to the main survey and scroll down past the ads, they have the salaries broken down into six large regions.

I dunno. In SF/SV I am kicking ass on the exec salary, in Sr Technolgy role.

Within each of those regions, there are huge variations in cost of living. Ever compare the housing costs in NYC and Buffalo?
