Apple is paying close attention to the app offerings for its new watch. If your iOS app advertises support for any watch, other than the Apple Watch, prepare for trouble. Apple recently rejected an update to an established iPhone and iPad app because it mentioned support for a non-Apple Smartwatch:

We noticed that your app or its metadata contains irrelevant platform information in the app. Providing future platform compatibility plans, or other platform references, is not appropriate for the App Store. Specifically, your app and app description declare support for the Pebble Smartwatch.

Additionally, Apple has established criteria for Apple Watch developers that reject applications where the primary function is to tell the time.

...iWC don't permit you to run any app other than the original, factory installed, non-updateble time telling one on their products. And they are much more expensive to boot.(http://www.iwc.com/en/ [iwc.com])

The other guy does it, so it must be okay. Or maybe it's not okay when anyone does it?

Follow the link, IWC makes mechanical watches; there is no reasonable expectation of customizable display when the display is carved out of metal and enclosed in an airtight, waterproof, sapphire-capped box.

Also, I doubt anything beyond good taste would prevent a customer from installing a "Hello Kitty" decal on the faceplate of their IWC timepiece to alter the readout.

My daughter would probably do that, I got her a kalashnikitty t-shirt [blogspot.com] at the gun show [cegunshows.com] a couple of weeks ago. She liked it and if she owned an AK I'm sure she'd put a hello kitty sticker on it. Does IWC make women's watches?

I don't see anything overtly sexist about their watches, and their portofino series advertizes as being "engineered for a slimmer wrist". They look blingy enough that a woman could want one.

For your daughter, though, there is apparently enough [kittyhell.com] in the [kittyhell.com] Hello Kitty [kittyhell.com] armament [kittyhell.com] to keep her happy, you just have to find someone willing to brave the backlash from Sanrio's lawyers.

Until I followed your link I thought you were talking about a fancy, new, Apple-branded toilet. Alternate trademark of iLoo, perhaps?

Of course, there's probably a market for that kind of think in Japan...
