When managers create a culture where employees know the boss puts employees' needs over his or her own, measureable [sic] improvements in customer satisfaction, higher job performance by employees, and lower turnover are the result, according to research by Robert Liden, Sandy Wayne, Chenwei Liao, and Jeremy Meuser, that has just been published in the Academy of Management Journal.

Employees feel the most valued, and in return give back to the company and its customers when their bosses create a culture of trust, caring, cooperation, fairness and empathy. According to Sandy Wayne one of the authors of the research, "The best business leadership style is far from, 'Do this. Don't do that.' A servant leader looks and sounds a lot more like, 'Is there anything I can do to help you?' Or, 'Let me help you....' Or, 'What do you need to...?' This approach helps employees reach their full potential."

The study was conducted at the Jason's Deli national restaurant chain, and the sample included:
961 employees
71 Jason's Deli restaurants
10 metropolitan areas.
The findings were based on data from surveys completed by managers, employees, and customers, and data from corporate records.

Not directed at any particular person...

It used to be a privilege to have a job (well, it still is for those with a clue), but in this new socialist utopia where companies are mysteriously moving offshore and small business owners will (after taking the huge risk of establishing their business in the first place) work themselves into the ground to avoid the risk of having to hire someone (I know, stupid right?), apparently the workers should now be the bosses.

How about all you socialist whiners out there, STFU and actually get a job before you complain about the working conditions. Just kidding. I would never expect that of you :D

In reality, money talks and bullshit walks, and socialist morons have no money (they just like spending everyone else's money instead) so when a boss says 'jump' and you refuse, well that's fine of course, but he can also refuse to give you any of his money (yes, that's right, it's not yours or the fucking government's).

Business owners call the shots because they take the risk, pay the salaries/wages and put up with endless bullshit from idiots. If you really wanna call the shots, get off your fat lazy ass and start your own fucking business you stupid socialist douchebags. Of course you won't cos it's just easier to whine and spend your 'hard earned' EBT credit. Fucking welfare shitbags are ruining this country from the inside out. </rant>

Business owners have every right to run their companies into the ground. And this is often what they do. Even many of the "successful" companies you see today only keep afloat because their competition is even more idiotic than they are. When you treat your employees like fools, they tend to act like fools. The smart ones move on to other jobs, and they dumb ones find a way to blend in. Then the owner ends up wondering why nothing ever gets done and can't figure out why their products/services are crap.

So go ahead and treat your workers like slaves, but I guarantee that you are only slitting your own throat.

Business owners call the shots because they take the risk

Not since the invention of the limited liability company have business owners taken the risk.
