According to a story at International Business Times, growing up poor can have a range of consequences for a person’s status and future opportunities — and it can also make someone more likely to catch colds later in life, a new study shows. Writing in the journal Brain, Behavior and Immunity, Carnegie Mellon University psychologist Sheldon Cohen and colleagues say they’ve found a connection between childhood poverty and a middle age with more sniffles, coughs and sneezes.

"We have found initial evidence for a biological explanation of the importance of childhood experiences on adult health," Cohen said in a statement. "The association we found in young and midlife adults suggests why those raised by parents of relatively low socioeconomic status may be at increased risk for disease throughout adulthood."

The number one factor in people's health, well being, happiness comes from lack of education. Most poor parents have low education thus expecting a good foundation for their children the odds are against them.

Overall health is very poorly understood. Wrong why's are constantly assigned and solutions that create new problems are introduced.

With all that's good about our society, it's also what's worst about it. The mighty dollar is the number one motivator and thus we have a sordid health system with money being the guiding factor where most falsehoods are present where most money is being made. Anyone venturing into conflict with big money will be a target.

What does that say about our society?

From that point of view it's easy to understand why some countries feel we stand for what is worst in the world. Unfortunately they are equally clueless and uneducated and have really bad ideas on how to "solve" the problem. Neither party understands the other and both want to resort to force. Which is nothing but an indicator that education is lacking, and that alterior motive might be present, which still says lack of education on what is the best course of action.

In case I lost you there, it's simply this: Not understanding tends to lead to the application of force. A bully is not so much evil as he's insecure and does not understand himself and life well enough to simply chill and pick friends that he enjoys. We are more and more not looking at things in life that affects us. By not looking we will not understand and come up with the wrong solutions, which usually means force or cowering.

Getting more involved in life is key, not avoiding things but look at them straight on. You are much more able than you ever allowed yourself to believe.
