The Japan Times reports:
[1063 plaintiffs, including lawmakers,] filed a lawsuit against the government on [May 15], seeking to halt Japan's involvement in 12-country talks on a Pacific Rim free trade agreement, which they called "unconstitutional".
[...]The lawsuit is led by Masahiko Yamada, 73, a lawyer who served as agriculture minister in 2010 as part of the Democratic Party of Japan government.
"The TPP could violate the Japanese right to get stable food supply, or the right to live, guaranteed by Article 25 of the nation's Constitution," Yamada, who abandoned his party in 2012 over then-Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda's push to join the TPP talks, said [May 14] before the court filing.
The envisaged pact would benefit big corporations but would jeopardize the country's food safety and medical systems, and [would] destroy the domestic farm sector, according to the plaintiffs.
The litigation is another twist in efforts by Japan and the U.S., the top economies involved in the TPP, to expedite talks on the agreement that would cover about 40 percent of the world's commerce.

I'm going to tell him that I don't know whether to tell my legislators that I support it or that I oppose it, and that I can't determine which until I've read the treaty in its entirety.
So I'm going to ask President Obama to mail me a copy.

Yup, you're missing something. Is it because you're looking at it from an overly-technical POV, or something else? Technology is __only__ a means to an end.
And if I seem irritated at your comment, it's because I am. Aren't tech-y forums like SN and /. the appropriate place for folks to make general statements using the patois familiar to the majority of users of the site? What is the point of your criticism of the 'grammar' of the statement? Why not respond to the statement itself?

I did respond, with a particular amount of cynicism to his assumption he could gain any response from the president whatsoever, I didn't think you sounded that annoyed, and I figured tee was less portable (and less common) than other means, as (last time I used it) it's not present in at least Solaris. Granted it's been years since I've touched Solaris.
I'm sorry to have irritated you so.

I'm just applying my usual rule of thumb: If they don't want me to see it, it can only be that they believe I won't like it.
That might not be ALWAYS true, but it's the way to bet.
