Australian Financial Review reports:

Whistleblower website WikiLeaks offered a [US$100,000] bounty for copies of a Pacific trade pact that is a central plank of President Barack Obama's diplomatic pivot to Asia on Tuesday.

WikiLeaks, which has published leaked chapters of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiating text before, started a drive to crowdsource money for the reward, just as U.S. unions launched a new push to make the text public.

"The transparency clock has run out on the TPP. No more secrecy. No more excuses. Let's open the TPP once and for all," WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said in a statement.

As a Kiwi; all I see is NZ getting raped by international corporate interests. The main one is the recently leaked info about the ability of corporations being able to sue the government because of changes that affected said corproations POTENTIAL profits.

WTF is happening in this world where the NZ government hasn't learnt from what is currently happening to the Australian govt....being sued by Phillip-Morris tobacco over the plain packaging legistation they passed to help the decline on smoking in Aussie. It isn't even like this happened "way back when" it is on-going and Aussie is likely to lose and have to pay PM hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars. Because they have done something to help their citizens.

There are other cases where govts have been sued over increases in the minimum wage and other workers rights improvement.

I want a govt with some balls like the one we had in the 80's that told the US with its nuclear war ships to GTFO of our waters. If it goes through millions of tax dollars will be shipped off to who knows where all with out oversight or the ability to appeal.

You can simpily not trust the government at all these days.
