Just when you thought the news couldn't get any more ridiculous ...

A company in North Korea has developed a cure for everything. North Korea's state-run news agency is reporting that Kumdang-2, a type of ginseng grown in "rare-earth molecular fertilizer" can "prevent different malignant epidemics."

The story was picked up in South Korea, which is currently experiencing a deadly outbreak of MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome), which the makers of Kumdang-2 claim it can cure.

According to this website, just a simple injection of this compound can cure a vast array of diseases:

Gingseng can probably make people feel better. But it's not a cure. And then it's the thing with placebo..

In other news, no one really cares what North Korean government says.

It makes for good PR to remind us all how 'crazy' NK is.

I guess it is more palatable than talking about their enormous concentration camps.

NK should have hired Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf (aka Baghdad Bob). His style would fit right in ;-)

The concentration camps is a really sad story. But as long as China protects NK and they remain politically stable, they will most likely stay. If the government would be leaderless for any moment it could however initiate a vicious internal power struggle that could cause the state to collapse.

That is the reason China supports those loonies, not because they are commi buddies. Last thing China wants is millions of starving, brain washed NK Zombies flooding across the border.
