Mageia 5 was finally released, after over a year in development. The biggest change is added support for UEFI, while other major changes include updating the Linux kernel to 3.19.8 and X.org to 1.16.4. Mageia is a five year-old fork of Mandriva formed by a group of Mandriva's former developers, and is known for the same user friendliness and polish. For those interested in the specifics of Mageia 5, you can check out the release notes here.

The market value of software is Zero.

Thus it always was. But certain dark forces meddled with the libertarian goodiness of the free market, and disguised the fact that the value of some software was less than zero. And now we see that they have to force people to take it for free. All that anti-piracy stuff was just a ploy to make us think that Micro$erft could be worth installing, if only we could get it for free! And unfortunately, some of our bretheren and sisteren fell for the ruse.

I think it is great you want to revive the word sistren, and I fully appreciate English spelling can be idiosyncratic, but the usual spelling when it was in use was 'sistren', not 'sisteren'.

I'm all for using vocabulary that maintains useful distinctions. We might need an LGBTIQ alternative, though, to keep SJW's happy. Fellows, perhaps?

Thanks, but you see I was just trying to stay parallel to my mispelling of "brethren". Mageia is actually #7 on the Distrowatch http://distrowatch.com/ [distrowatch.com] Page Hit Ranking, and headed up! Might be worth an install just to try it out!
