[translation mine] Starting in July, the pool of Amazon subscriber money will be shared among authors according to concrete usage statistics. The statistics will come from individual Kindle E-Books that will record reader behavior and communicate it back to Amazon.

Is this a model for content production in the future?

I don't trust web pages. The sharp angled brackets are all conspiring to give me painful paper cuts.

Post entire texts of your books to the comments sections of popular news-for-trolls sites. You're sure to reach mentally ill readers that way.

Package it as a file and link it on your site.

You can use Calibre [calibre-ebook.com] or something to convert HTML to EPUB MOBI.

Kindle supports [wikipedia.org] TXT, PDF, and HTML but some or all of these aren't "reflowable". So just convert to MOBI.

To get non-Amazon ebooks onto the Kindle, you can just use the USB-to-microUSB cable that came with the device to drop files in a directory, or use Calibre to manage the transfer of ebooks. Amazon also gives an email address to Kindle users. You can email a file to that address, and it will be converted to a supported format for you.

Yes, it's easy, have a look at my site. I'm using Calibre to convert books to epub and awz3, writing PDFs with Open Office, and have formatted the books' HTML so it looks like a book. Just upload your e'book to to your site and link it from your web page.

Just look at my HTML to see how to do it. Hell, you can borrow my code if you wish.
