Bloomberg reports:

It's been a little over a year since Colorado began allowing stores to sell marijuana for recreational use and the market continues to grow rapidly. But there are clouds (ahem) on the horizon.

Nicholas Colas and his team at Convergex, a global brokerage company based in New York, surveyed a number of marijuana stores in Colorado last week to get a better picture of the state of the nascent market.

What they found was that prices are declining faster than some had expected, while the number of people visiting the stores has increased.

Here's more from the note:

Since last June, the average price of an 1/8th ounce of recreational cannabis has dropped from $50-$70 to $30-$45 currently; an ounce now sells for between $250 and $300 on average compared to $300-$400 last year. More competition and expansion of grow facilities contributed to this price decline, but it is also a natural result for any maturing industry as dispensaries try to find the market's equilibrium price.

Even with the declining prices, sales are still exceeding those of last year for recreational marijuana.

Public support for the legalization of marijuana has ballooned recently, with Colorado leading the way as a test case for what drug legalization could look like. These are some of the first statistics to show how the market there is developing.

Dude don't smoke blunts, the amount of toxin particulates you are sucking into your lungs is just nuts and once the damage is done? It can never be undone. Even though my dad quit smoking 30 years ago COPD claimed his life last month and despite the fact I've been smoke free for 3 years I have zero doubt it'll eventually get me too, so don't trash your health for a buzz man.

Instead do as I did with the cigarettes and go to vaping, you can get a good Dry Herb Atomizer [cigabuy.com] and pair it with a great mod [cigabuy.com] for less than $45 shipped. I have been buying from this company for nearly 3 years, average turnaround is 16 days and never had a bit of trouble no matter how big or small the order, just a great company.

So don't risk your health when you can get all the enjoyment WITHOUT all the garbage in your lungs man. I have a neighbor that smokes like a rasta band and recently switched him to the above and according to him "You'll never go back, smoking is just not in the same league" as he says the taste is better, the buzz more intense, and he doesn't get that dry hack anymore. He says he can really tell the difference in his breathing, just as I could when I gave up cigs for vaping. So please don't ruin your health, not when you can do it safely with a minimum of fuss.

Hahaha, actually I rarely smoke a true 'blunt.' They are quite harsh, I just never see the word 'joint' anymore (don't really do those much either, same reason) and just used it as a poor substitute since I always seem to be behind the times terminology wise.

Some mother nature in a pipe or oil in a vape pen mostly.

But, alas, I have been a smoker for 38 years, too bad vape pens didn't come out sooner. They have helped me cut down a lot, but I'm sure a lot of damage already done. Harder to fucking quit than Cocaine, that, I was able to walk away from. Of course, it might of been harder if Cocaine were available at every corner market. Vaping is good, but doesn't quite do it for me. My main difficulty is getting used to the water vapor that chokes the living shit out of me. Any tips?

Thanks for the link for the dry herb atomizer. Might give that a go, I did buy one locally, but it lasted less than a month and was 'iffy' at best. That one, even though the price is comparable, looks on the surface at least, to be better than the POS I bought.
First time I've seen a battery called a 'mod.' That word makes me think of new ways to crash a game, not power a vape. I truly have become old.

To help with the water vapor, put it in a bag with some desiccants so that it's extremely dry.

Yep, old Hairy can solve that problem and let you quit the cancer sticks for good! The problem you are having if you are getting choked out is that your tank and or battery isn't giving you the right combination of air mixed with vapor. Just pick up this tank [cigabuy.com] and pair it with this mod [cigabuy.com], now what this will do is let you dial in EXACTLY how strong or weak the vape is, while also letting you make it more cig like or more joint like. You see there is a set of 4 holes in the bottom of the tank that let you dial in how the tank hits, want a cloud bank? Open it up, want a smooth more cig like vape? drop it down to the first or second position. The mod I linked to will let you go all day on a single charge, you can hit it while charging, its just a great mod. A bit of advice though, it comes with a 510/Ego connector, leave it on as there have been reports of people stripping it out using 510 thread tops straight into it. Since the adapter will work on both Ego AND 510 threaded? No point in taking it off really.

Last bit of advice, if you do get that one I'd suggest grabbing some coils [cigabuy.com] as they run typically around $3 a coil where I live and you can get a 5 pack here for $4.66. Depending on how hard you vape you should be able to get a month and a half to two months per coil so 2 of the 5 packs should last a little over a year, and if your local vape shop doesn't have any cig flavors you like I've vaped their Marlboro [cigabuy.com] and RY4 [cigabuy.com] quite a bit and they are nice cigarette flavors, the RY4 reminds me of a (very slightly) sweet Pall Mall while the Marlboro is...well Marlboro. Their Vanilla tastes like sugar cookies and their Black Devil tastes like a rich dark chocolate if you like more of a candy flavoring. I tend to switch up monthly so I don't get burnt out on any one flavor myself, currently I have 3 of those mods, the first has RY4, the second a local vape shop flavor called "cowboy" which is a hazelnut tobacco, and the local vape shop's "Unicorn Vomit" which is a rainbow sherbet.

But I was a 2 pack a day smoker for nearly 30 years and like you the stuff I picked up in my local vape shop? Just didn't cut the mustard, but instead of giving up I hit YouTube, found a channel called Indoor Smokers [youtube.com] and started asking questions. The guys there put me on the right track and now? it'll be 3 years next Dec that I'll have been 100% cig free. So don't give up, VAPING WORKS, but unlike cigs you can't just grab one at random and have it work, a little bit of work is required. With that setup I linked to you can make it as tight or airy as you like, as cool or hot, as thick or thin...try it, I bet it'll fix all your vaping problems!

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

I was a two pack a day person myself for about eight years. The store bought vape pen has helped me down to just below one a day over the course of two years. One that doesn't gag me might be just the ticket.

Thanks Hairyfeet. Must of been tough for you too, I know how much hobbits like their pipes!

Ya know you are probably only the second one to actually pick up on that, I've had so many go "Eww why would I listen to somebody with hairy feet?" that I just wanted to bitchslap with a copy of The Hobbit it isn't even funny. Kids these days, if the director doesn't show it in close up with the "this is a plot point" music sting? They will never even pick up on it, sigh. Funny enough I did try 3 different pipe models, hoping to relax like Bilbo with some long bottom leaf and salted pork, but all the pipe designs? Yeah just lame.

Oh and the reason they are called "mods" is because back when all you could get were the ones that looked like cigs (and frankly sucked, too weak and lousy vapor) guys were making their own using Lithium rechargeable batteries and home made boxes, since they were making their own parts by modifying other things? They ended up being called mods. There is still a section that does this, man you should check out the modders sometimes its just nuts, we're talking 200w+ battery boxes hooked to sub 0.1 ohm custom wired coils, just nuts.

But I've been using the parts I linked to for over a year, and its as close to "plug and play" as you can get while still being able to choose your own juice. That tank holds 5ml so it can easily last a day and a half, just remember its glass so don't bang it around too much. I've dropped mine onto pavement a couple times but I also bought a spare tank just in case, but so far knock on pyrex its been a great hassle free set up. I like a nice warm cig like vape so I have mine set at 8.8w on the second hole which for me gives me the most cigarette like vape, not too thick or too airy, just right but YMMV. Let me know how it goes and any questions feel free to holler.

Well, I guess you have to be an actual reader to pick up on that then.

Thanks for the links, and advice.

Interesting info about why they are called mods. I tried those cigarette clones when they first appeared. Yuk. Never followed the development and was unaware. Interesting anecdote.

            Peace out man!
