I'm wondering what Linux distros my fellow soylentils use, and why.

I myself have loved Fedora since version 7, and never cared much for Debian systems. My desktops either run Fedora or a source-built XFCE system. What distros do you use, what architectures, and why do you use them? Are there any distros you wish were still around?

Ubuntu 12.04 on my MacBook (along with MacOS 10.6 Snow Leopard). Ubuntu 14.04 on my old iMac (along with Mac OS 10.10 Yosemite). I do have an HP laptop with Windows 8.1 on it which rarely gets used.

Ubuntu works great on the MacBook. Installing it on the iMac was a major pain in the ass, however. Furthermore, I had to turn off auto-suspend to keep it from going into that mode when sleeping. If it suspends, it won't wake up. It also has some video issues but it works well enough for what I use it for. And, of course, it blows away MacOS in terms of speed and responsiveness as long as it isn't too graphics heavy.

I forgot to mention that I use Gnome with Ubuntu to avoid the Unity crapware in both 12.04 and 14.04. I would rather use Mint on both but I had problems installing it. It's installed on the HP shit laptop with Windows 8.1 which I almost never use, however.
