I'm wondering what Linux distros my fellow soylentils use, and why.

I myself have loved Fedora since version 7, and never cared much for Debian systems. My desktops either run Fedora or a source-built XFCE system. What distros do you use, what architectures, and why do you use them? Are there any distros you wish were still around?

    "But I run Windows 7."

You can't start a conversation on most popular forums about Linux without Microsoft and/or Windows people popping up first in the comments. This is especially true on buck feta.

The same is true for a lot of the real life events where actual people meet and talk about FOSS, Microsoft's almost always in the wings.

The smooth operator posts usually start or end with, "I really like Linux, but I use Windows X"

The one hit wonders will just throw in some outdated talk like, "Well who wants to use the command line all the time?" or most favorably, "My grandma can't learn and/or use Linux!"

Wherever you go, Microsoft and sock-puppet apologetics are there.
