The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Time and several other news sources are reporting that Ellen Pao is resigning as CEO of Reddit. Pao will be replaced by Steve Huffman, a Reddit co-founder and its first CEO.
Pao has had a stormy and controversial stint as interim chief executive officer of Reddit which culminated in a mass user protest in recent weeks, as previously reported on SN.

The Wikipedia article on GamerGate is horribly biased and completely out of touch with reality. Here [gamergate.me] is a critical position of the article made by promoters of the GamerGate movement. According to an article on the same site,
GamerGate is a consumer revolt triggered by the overt politicization, ethical misconduct, and unprecedented amounts of censorship targeted at gamers and video games as a whole that is presently being perpetrated by many entities within the industry surrounding video games.
This websites [deepfreeze.it] is a semi-formal activity log of GamerGate and a database of the alleged media transgressions and transgressors. In case you want to verify the facts yourself, the main communities of GG seem to be reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction and their board on 8chan. Do note that 8chan is notoriously anti-censorship and has a notably large neo-nazi community among other undesirables, reader discretion is advised.

If free speech means you have a large neo-Nazi community, I would suggest you're doing it wrong. If all the racists are not welcome in an online community, that does not mean they are oppressed. If pedofiles and mikeeUSA are shunned and shamed, it is not because they are being censored, or afflicted with political correctness, we are just trying to protect the innocent and not be complicit in crimes. The enemies of SJWs are idiots, they cannot see that the Warriors are actually fighting for them, attempting to save them from their own idiocy. At least all the pedo-racist-Nazis could say thank you.

The “argument” of “saving people from themselves” with or without some “greater cause” can and is used against absolutely anything by everybody. Some recent examples includes soda, jews, fat, bolsheviks, smoking, communists, freedom, Tutsies, gun ownership, and infidels, and then there's the classics like scum, criminals, witches, murderers (always ironic), whores, poor, rich, educated, and uneducated, and the even less “stringent” categories of “bastards” and any other expletives and “things I don't like”.
Any noun will do! All descriptions too, just about any word in fact, it's the great fascist free-for-all and it never seems to end. Guilty as charged, who hasn't ever done that?

I'm not sure what you are implying here. If you mean 8chan, then that site is ran by some extreme liberal (traditional sense) dude who feels very strongly about freedom of speech. GG didn't start there, it was pretty much the only chan that would take them in after the media campaign of labeling them as a hate group despite plainly observable empirical evidence of the opposite. The nazis were already there when GG started.
