from the sharing-criticism dept.

CNET, Business Insider, techcrunch and many others report on Hillary's beef with "on-demand/gig economy". Specifically:

"Many Americans are making extra money renting out a small room, designing websites, selling products they design themselves at home, or even driving their own car," Clinton said during a speech at the New School in New York City. "This on-demand, or so-called 'gig economy,' is creating exciting opportunities and unleashing innovation. But it's also raising hard questions about workplace protections and what a good job will look like in the future."

"Fair pay and fair scheduling, paid family leave and earned sick days, child care are essential to our competitiveness and growth," the former secretary of state said, referring to benefits not accorded to independent contractors such as drivers at Uber.

Meanwhile, others are quick to point that her "main super PAC decisively favored Uber over conventional cabs by a 25:1 margin" (doh, she didn't say Uber is bad, only that it is evil toward its empl... err... contractors) and Rand Paul tweets: "America shouldn't take advice on the sharing economy from someone who has been driven around in a limo for 30 years." (yeah, Dr Paul, zillions of male gynecologists were never pregnant, of course they know nothing about giving birth).

He commenced cyberstalking me when I posted Will You Motherfuckers Kindly Cut Me Some God Damn Slack? [kuro5hin.org] to my Kuro5hin diary back in 2009.

While cyberstalking is a felony under US State and Federal Law, only I have standing to complain. I prefer to point out what a jackass modus is; prosecution would set back the American Taxpayer a lot of money that could better be spent on hookers and blow.

tl:dr; I regarded the code I was working on at the time as a way to attract organic links to my website. I had the idea I could earn some coin through advertising. I actually did make a little but not much off that particular website.

However some astute eCommerce webmaster I expect through log analysis realized I was sending him lots of referrals from my article about CD label printing, so he snapped up a large supply of the printer I discussed. I didn't endorse that particular printer I only used it as one example of many available such printers, but as I commonly say the reason that artists starve for their art is not because no one is willing to buy their music.

It's because they have no business sense: that printer set me back $120.00. This joker was selling them for more $350.00 long after Epson discontinued it, no doubt when it introduced a far better, somewhat less expensive CD label printer.
