Gizmag has published a 2015 smartwatch comparison guide for those planning to acquire another NSA-tracking collar mobile device:

Before we jump in, these are the six watches we chose as the best available right now, which you'll see lined up (in two rows) throughout this comparison:

  • Motorola Moto 360

  • Apple Watch

  • LG Watch Urbane

  • Samsung Gear S

  • Pebble Time

  • Asus ZenWatch

During my recent visit to an Apple Store in Long Island, a grand total of 1 person was looking at the long row of Apple Watches while the iPhone table was mobbed.

It's almost reassuring enough to counter every story I hear about my moron coworkers who buy their two year olds tablets.

I'd buy my cat a tablet if there were more apps for critters. For now she has to borrow mine : )

The cat would probably take better care of it. One of them is on their third last time I checked.

I read your post as 'buying 2 year old tablets' and from what I understand, apple EOL's them pretty quickly and they become very very useless, on purpose, 'courtesy' of apple.

I know that if I bought an apple pad, I'd be really agry if the thing slowly self-destructed in a software compatibility way, so fast. but it appears its apple's MO and their user base is fine with that ;(

I'm not sure where you came up with this idea. I pre-ordered an iPad when they were first announced, and it's still in use. Yes, it runs an old version of iOS, but that shouldn't be surprising. It is surprising though that Apple later changed their App Store to provide old versions of apps to old devices where possible, where the latest release of the app would otherwise not support the old device. This allows me to often download old versions of new apps as I discover them. Yes my iPad is slow (very very slow), but it's no slower than it was when I bought it. It's certainly no less capable than it was when it was new, although it's been eclipsed in almost every aspect by newer devices.

The point here is that the iPad does the opposite of "self-destructing in a software compatibility way", since it can continue to download old/compatible versions of apps from Apples App Store.

Apple EOL'd iPad 1 at iOS 5, it came out in 2010 and had a short life for new updates (only two years), but mine (and many others) still works just fine. iPad 2, which came out in 2011, had a much better processor and amount of ram and is still running the newest iOS for getting the newest apps. Some of the newest "features" of the newest iOS don't work, but it's 4 year old hardware.

Although your perception can't be countered with logic and facts because it's ingrained and you can't use logic to argue against something that wasn't arrived at logically to begin with. Just hoping before someone else accepts your post as the truth, they would get some contradictory information and make the effort to do a little research before parroting it on.
