El Reg reports Brassiere belays boob-bound bullet, begetting bruised breastbone

[A] woman, who was cycling through Germany's least densely populated state of Mecklenberg-Western Pomerania, was saved by the wire lining of her bra, reported Germany's Gadebusch-Rehnaer Zeitung.

[A] couple had chosen to cycle across a field between the towns of Gadebusch and Kochelstor in Germany, when they unwittingly entered a conflict between man and beast.

Feeling a sudden pain in her chest, and glancing thither, she noted that she'd been struck by a rebounded shot and was saved only by the underwire of her brassiere, leaving her with but a bruise.

The minimalist technology involved surprised me. I expected something much more exotic.

Germany is super serious about forest and wildlife stuff. That hunter may never hunt again.

"injury caused by negligence" is being a bad shot negligence? How about it is effectively impossible to know where exactly a ricochet will go; but depending on where she was compared to the target the shooter should have seen her and should not have shot; then it would be negligence but who is to know without seeing the full details.

Over here, a hunter is required to make sure that he has something behind his target that will catch the bullet in case he misses, before he pulls the trigger.

Recently a hunter hit a car, after his bullet left the forest that he was hunting in. The driver was not hurt, the insurance will pay the wind screen, and according to the police, the hunter will likely be looking for a new hobby.
