[A] couple had chosen to cycle across a field between the towns of Gadebusch and Kochelstor in Germany, when they unwittingly entered a conflict between man and beast.
Feeling a sudden pain in her chest, and glancing thither, she noted that she'd been struck by a rebounded shot and was saved only by the underwire of her brassiere, leaving her with but a bruise.
The minimalist technology involved surprised me. I expected something much more exotic.

Even in Wisconsin, which has the most liberal gun laws in the union, it’s illegal to shoot any large game with anything below .223. Unlike other states, WI does allow .223 FMJs because they’re mostly semi automatics, and people aren’t going to shoot just one round.
It wouldn’t surprise me considering the EUs attitude towards gun ownership that they would limit hunters to just .22 LRs. I would think a sharpened stick would be easier to kill a boar with than a .22
