A press event gets not one but six bomb threats and it's not covered by any major news outlet that day aside from a few paragraphs on Forbes.com? Is it just me or would not the mainstream media eat this much meta up with a spoon if any topic other than #GamerGate were being discussed?

The first threat was made at 1:15 pm ET, but attendees chose to stay. Later, a specific threat was phoned into The Miami Herald and the Miami PD, claiming that a bomb would go off at 2:45 pm ET. At this point, attendees and panelists exited the building and eventually finished their discussion outside.

You can watch both the morning panel and the interrupted afternoon panel on the SPJ AirPlay YouTube channel.

The most interesting bit to me though is the difference in how differently #GamerGate and its critics handle anonymous threats. Finishing the event in the parking lot then throwing a party just has more style.

TMB which "side" do you think made the bomb threats: GG, anti-GG, or pro-lulz?

Well, it was a misunderstanding: Someone said to him: "You should make sex bomb threats to the event" and he misunderstood "sex" as "six".

Well, let's see. Which side brought us the policy known as "no platform" [wikipedia.org] stipulating that people who are against Social Justice dogma are not even allowed to speak, and should be stopped at all costs? In 2013, radical feminists shut down a Men's Rights talk by pulling a fire alarm at the University of Toronto. [youtube.com]

When one side just wants to be heard in a fair and open forum, and the other side goes on about how they have a *moral obligation* to make sure certain ideas aren't even allowed to be discussed, it's disingenuous to maintain that the arrow of guilt isn't pointed strongly in a particular direction. Feminists do this all the time. They have the censorious instinct. This was either a particularly ballsy (and stupid) 3rd party troll, or an ideologue. Unfortunately with Skype and VPNs it's virtually impossible to find these people if they weren't completely retarded--but it was probably a radfem, so we'll see.

Are you sure you are? Christina H. Sommers (a panelist at SPJ Airplay) considers herself a feminist but the sort of people who pull fire alarms and make bomb threats would vehemently disagree. So who's to say? I can't adjudicate this.

Good news then. I don't make breezy generalizations and then turn right around and claim that I don't know enough to have an opinion on the subject that I just gave my opinion on. You aren't going to get any peer pressure from khallow for that.

And "qualifications" are a non sequitur. I didn't read your posts because you were "qualified", but because I was interested in your opinion. If that opinion had been well reasoned, then I would have responded accordingly.

It was never stated that *all* feminists do this. Stop exaggerating.

Though don't feel bad, as it's quite common for people to get indignant upon seeing key phrases ("triggers", if you will), and thenceforth not be able to correctly parse the actual text in front of them. Feminists do this all the time.
