A press event gets not one but six bomb threats and it's not covered by any major news outlet that day aside from a few paragraphs on Forbes.com? Is it just me or would not the mainstream media eat this much meta up with a spoon if any topic other than #GamerGate were being discussed?

The first threat was made at 1:15 pm ET, but attendees chose to stay. Later, a specific threat was phoned into The Miami Herald and the Miami PD, claiming that a bomb would go off at 2:45 pm ET. At this point, attendees and panelists exited the building and eventually finished their discussion outside.

You can watch both the morning panel and the interrupted afternoon panel on the SPJ AirPlay YouTube channel.

The most interesting bit to me though is the difference in how differently #GamerGate and its critics handle anonymous threats. Finishing the event in the parking lot then throwing a party just has more style.

    The attendees, from Forbes [forbes.com]

Here’s the afternoon panel, which featured Breitbart’s Milo Yiannopoulos, AEI’s Christina Hoff Sommers, and Reason’s Cathy Young on the #GamerGate side, and journalism ethics expert Lynn Walsh, journalism trainer Ren LaForme, and game developer Derek Smart on the “non” side. No “anti” #GamerGate critics attended, which is a shame

    That makes for...

That seems serious enough. Far from "whiny people".

I can't tell if you are joking or not.

The national chapter of the AJP wanted nothing to do with the event, telling the local chapter to remove the logo of the national chapter. [buzzfeed.com]

And more importantly unlike the anti-crowd that tries to silence and DOXX all those that dissent they invited prominent anti-GGers to the panel and of course none of them would show up. I would argue the reason why is obvious, the facts are simply not on their side. The GameJournPro emails have been confirmed by those that wrote them, the Twitter posts of those like Wu and Quinn calling for DOXXing have been recorded and saved, hell they even have plenty of screencaps of the anti-GGers harassing themselves where they tried to plant anon threats against themselves and forgot to log off.

So what we see is the same play we have seen time and time again with partisan hacks on both sides...facts not support you? Evidence doesn't follow your narrative? Then call everybody who disagrees an "ist" and sling mud like there is no tomorrow. If they would have gone to the panel they would actually have had a debate on the facts, just slinging "Your an ist!" wouldn't have worked, so instead just call in some bomb threats and call it a victory, no different than the feminist that bragged about pulling the fire alarm on a meeting of a local MRM chapter and standing outside with a bullhorn screaming "rapist!" at the top of her lungs. Don't debate, don't discuss, just throw an ist and make sure the other side cannot speak, that is the SOP of the millennial "activists".

Nah... The problem is that you see it as gamergaters versus anti-gamergaters as if they are two sides of the same coin. When in fact, gamergaters exist to oppose change, but so called "anti-gamergaters" are busy embodying that change. They don't care about gamergaters any more than a farmer cares about weeds. Sure there are some people, like the gamerghazi crowd, who do exist to oppose gamergaters, but those guys are fringe just getting their kicks from the conflict itself and nobody really cares about them any more than anybody really cares about gamergaters.

So no, it really has nothing to do with whether or not "facts are on their side" -- it has to do with disinterest.

Yes inquisitional thinking. You only need power or truth. Both would be nice but not necessary. If you're in power, like the left, you don't need or care about truth.

"Hey look at all this power we have, aren't we awesome"

        "truth truth truth"

"Who cares about truth we have power now go away or we destroy you, all that matters is we have power over you"

        "truth truth truth"

"You have truth, we have people to pull fire alarms, so we win"

The two sides aren't even engaging each other, there isn't even a dialog happening. Not even speaking the same language or playing the same game. This makes it hard to follow, there isn't even a debate, can't even make a binary decision.

The fact that gamergaters put sarkeseeian and company in the center of their world doesn't obligate reciprocation.
There simply aren't two sides here and as long as gamergaters think there they will continue to fail.

Wrong. GamerGate exists because Kotaku and the rest of Gawker media are morally bankrupt trash. There is no debate between GG and aGG, aGG is a bunch of lunatics and deluded useful idiots who are peddling their pretend-reality until they themselves start believing it.

There is NO factual evidence at all that GG has ever harassed anyone. None. Zero. Nil. The people who do harass the likes of Zoe Quinn have been disowned by virtually every mainstream GG community. No popular GG voice has ever advocated for the harassment of anyone, or engaged in doxing (unlike Zoe Quinn herself who has done both of those things).

But regardless, we still get dishonest and/or ignorant twats like you who insist on blaming GG for the actions of individuals that the overwhelming majority of GGers have repeatedly condemned and disassociated itself with.

Look around you John. The abyss you've been staring into has been staring back for quite some time now.
