Among the 50 entries I found it interesting that, from their perspective, there's always been Google, South Park, and mass-produced hybrid vehicles. What is/are your favorite(s) and why? What did they leave out?

    No, they didn't. Like the other annual lists (there are several others, the most depressing of which is probably the one of works that would have entered the US public domain had various copyright extension laws not been passed), this is a list of things that changed specifically for those born in the year in question compared to the last. If anything though, I thought they were reaching a bit this year, but you might have to blame that on Wikipedia's pages of major events for given years which I would assume is where they get most of these from.
