from the lets-go-fly-a-kite,-up-to-the-highest-heights dept.

A massive energy kite being developed in California could be deployed for testing near Waimea by early next year.

Before the experimental devise can begin spinning 1,100 feet above the ground, the Google-owned development company behind the initiative must receive clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration and a building permit from Hawaii County. Following a year of flight and testing, representatives of the R&D company Makani are hopeful that they'll be closer to having a commercially viable product that is up to 50 percent more efficient at generating electricity than a conventional wind turbine.

It is a manifestation of his mental illness. The guy is schizo, literally, he's said so himself. Narcissism is a very common component of schizophrenia. Its not a joke, its just tedious.

Yeah up to 50% "more efficient" but with so much more guaranteed complexity, fragility and so many other problems.

Imagine a wind farm with 100 turbines are all relatively close, all nice and stationary relative to each other, now estimate the things that can go badly wrong and the impact (BTW wind turbines do catch fire :) ). Now imagine 100 of these kites in the air, estimate the things that can go badly wrong and the impact. How are you going to keep them separated? Make sure they are far away from each other? Then where is your 50% more efficient? Seems like it'll only be useful in fringe cases, so where will your economies of scale be?

    devise

Yes, if only they could devise an experimental device that could tell the difference between words that seem to be the same but actually are not even remotely the same.

Listen up, peoples! Just because everyone else is not illiterate, this is no reason for you to succumb to the general trend. Words make a difference, and spelling counts! Even capitalization! ( I once helped my uncle jack off a horse.) See? "Then" is a consequential, "than" is a comparative. Now if only I had a vice into which I could put the energy producing kite, maybe some kind of de-vise. Or was that Miami Vise? English is my 42nd language, and I understand this!
