New discoveries lead to new questions and hypotheses, but the existence of some things in the human body are hard to prove, Miller said. Here are four areas whose very existence in the body has been debated, along with the views expressed on both sides of the argument.

The G-spot

When women are surveyed, the majority of them say they believe the G-spot is real. But when doctors are asked about the existence of the Grafenberg spot, named for a German gynecologist who first described an erogenous zone on the anterior, or front, wall of the vagina that is linked with intense orgasms, there might be considerable debate on the subject.
...
Pheromones

Pheromones are chemical signals that animals release as a way to communicate with other members of the same species. Insects and other animals are known to secrete pheromones in their sweat, saliva or urine, and the animal that picks up on the compounds, often by smelling them, may get information, such as that a certain territory has been marked, that danger is nearby or that a potential mate is sexually available.
...
Irisin

The researchers suggested that irisin is a protein produced when a person exercises, and that the body may make more of it as physical activity continues, said Keith Baar, an associate professor of physiology at the University of California, Davis, who has studied exercise and irisin but was not involved in Spiegelman's research.
...
Cancer stem cells

Cancer stem cells are a big issue in cancer biology, Miller said. Normal stem cells are special cells that can give rise to other types of cells in the body, to make tissues and organs.

This has led scientists to theorize that, like normal tissue, cancer is also driven by stem cells.

Obviously the doctors who were asked about the G spot are men and either don't have sex with women, have very short fingers, or have had them amputated by an angry female PMSing patient.

There's clearly a physical patch that is distinct from the rest of the region in a good proportion of females, there's no argument about that, I would hope. However, I'm not convinced that it is /in itself/ hyper-erogenous. It's now known that the clitoris is a much larger structure than just the bump at the front, and I believe that the sensation putatively from the G-spot is actually caused by pressing on the non-prominant parts of the glans clitoris from behind. So it exists, but it isn't what most claim it is, IMHO. That modern female researchers (in human biology, not in wimynz studies) have published papers supporting my thesis I find encouraging.

Regardless, I dated a girl in high-school, who with only slight g-spot stimulation would have very quick, bone shattering orgasms. It was a beautiful thing to behold. My wife, while she enjoys it, does not have nearly the same response. This tells me that different people have different reactions to the same stimulus. This, to me, seems obvious.

Absolutely possible. The internal structure of the clitoris can be quite large, and you may have had almost direct access to the back of it. So it might even be that the stimuli aren't even the same. Variations should be expected everywhere variation is possible.

Irisin exists. The exact function of the protein is just not settled yet.

Cancer stem cells exist, but they aren't actually stem cells so scientists get caught-up in arguing the semantics of what they are and what to call them. Tumor initiating cells is a more conservative term for them.

Just like the Ramones, not a real thing. The whole thing was a scam by the company that produced AXE. Phermones that attract women? Give me a break? The only thing that attracts females is sophistication, a certain je nai se qua, style, and money. Mostly money. But then, what were we all looking for in the first place? Maybe all thoughts are just chemicals, and chemicals are just, like elements, and elements are only the result of stars exploding, and all of it is much ado about nothing.

i would presume that soylent published about the various formal/informal studies where woman/men approach random people on the street and say, 'me so horny, we suckee, we fuckee ? ? ?', and the ensuing percentages of men vs woman who accept, etc... i will only say it confirms EVERY stereotype feminutzis would aver is otherwise...

along with that, were studies which rated the traits which attracted men/woman to each other... as i recall, when it came to a trait like 'economic stability', men were, meh, 40sumpin percent interested in that as a primary criteria for choosing a 'mate'; woman, sumpin like 97%...

All the years I was in school, there was plenty of discussion of pheremones in both plants and animals, but insistence that humans did not have any. Never mind the historical evidence (including historical non-literal-history, like the various religions) of fragrant flowers being important in most cultures (at least where flowers grow), and of perfume and "fragrant spices" being the sort of business that was worth sending caravans over the desert. Humans are animals on this planet, and it's pretty obvious that we are affected by scents, and equally obvious that there's no reason for us to be totally unlike other animals on this planet.

FTFY. The clitoris is a very real and very well documented physical structure of female anatomy. Just because most men can't or don't care to find it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Now the female orgasm, on the other hand, its existence can be doubted because most men can't or don't care enough to give them to their partner. There is insufficient evidence of its existence specifically because of this inability or unwillingness to obtain the evidence.
