The World Robot Conference in Beijing was reportedly taken by storm this week when the latest iteration of Geminoid F – an almost terrifyingly-realistic robot woman – made an appearance during the show.

Geminoid F, the rubber-skinned robot star of an upcoming Japanese film, looks more and more like a real woman with every update.

Known to many as "the world's sexiest robot," the rubber-skinned android can speak, sing, and even act according to China's state-run news service.

She made headlines just a few weeks ago, in fact, when it was announced that she was starring in the Japanese disaster flick Sayonara, making her the first robot to score an actress profile on IMDB.

We have come a long ways from "Rosie" on "The Jetsons."

Well I probably would too but that doesn't make it sexy. Even if it's hitting somer of the right visual and tactile cues it's not sexy. Surely sexy involves somekind of reciprocation otherwise it's just wanking. I underdatnd how fetishes work and although I can get turned on by some tech, gadget or elegant solution, realistically it leads to an intelectual boner, not actual wood.

    From the article:

Her silica-gel skin can even age, in a sense.

"The gel will become saggy after one or two years and has to be replaced as a result," said Sun Yuting, a Chinese student working for Ishiguro lab, to a reporter at the conference.

Also, this isn't a robot, it's a telefactor. Perhaps that's appropriate for a "actress" closely scripted by a director, but it's of strictly limited utility.

Certainly you don't think the robot gets unplugged because it can't believe in the same god? or that it can't actually reproduce despite looking like it could?

I am not even sure why you could relate the article with your comment. Perhaps if the robots were silons and got religion, they'd choose to assassinate you? Plenty of sexy silon models out there to do such killing. Not quite as many human religious whackos that are also hot.

I find the videos of this android interesting. Most of the stuff we've seen in the past look like androids trying to behave like humans, and they end up looking creepy--a phenomenon known as the uncanny valley https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley [wikipedia.org].
