A plea from orbiting solar farmers on the ISS to COP21 (The United Nations Climate Change Conference): "open your eyes!"
The Association of Space Explorers reached out to their fellow astronauts to pass on a simple message of solidarity, hope and collaboration to combat climate change and reach our political leaders during such a crucial time.

Fortunately, culling all the scientists who've spouted bullcrap, and all the loons who've spouted bullcrap will leave us with a fair number of less attention-seeking scientists, and almost no loons.

We could be headed toward a death spiral of climate change meaning the end of humanity in 15 years, but thanks to politicization of environmental issues by psychopathic shit-eating politicians, nobody would believe it.
The general population would believe with justification that politicians were doing their usual fearmongering to squeeze even more behavioral compliance and tax monies out of people at worst and putting on of a phoney totally-righteous handwavey shitshow to distract them from the death and destruction caused my a more immediate issue: Western governments using terrorism to implement neo-colonialism.
If there was one single situation where "shoot first, ask questions later" applied, it would be in the context of your message.

It looks to me as though it's the other way round: that terrorism is being used as an excuse for suppressing protests over the climate.

> Nonsense. Climate change is just something that people on *both sides* (both scientists and loons) have been lying about.
Fallacy of false balance. Getting tired of stupid teenager shit like that on a site full of greybeards.

What has been going on is (a) the noisiest loons spouting unsupportable claims; and (b) the noisiest scientists doing *bad science* (such as "Mike's trick"), and *fraudulent* reporting of results (like "hiding the decline"). Those are documented facts. (For (a) see the rebuttals by reliable scientists, and for (b) see the rebuttals by reliable scientists.)
But I'm repeating myself, and apparently you have pitiful comprehensions skills, so I'm not sure why I bothered.

Gee, you gave two positions and equated them as equally bad. Sounds like characterizing it as balance.
Perhaps the problem is you are so deep in the derp that you can't comprehend how unintentionally revealing your own words are.

I have a suspicion that the sentimentality of the piece will be lost on most of the members of this the next farcical conference on climate change - especially the most influential ones.

I suppose that astronauts telling bullshit are better than, for example, actors telling the same bullshit, right? 'Cause, hey, they are astronauts! So their bullshit is coming directly from space!
