A furious Frenchman was arrested on Thursday after he marched into an Apple Store and smashed up several iPhones using a petanque [bocce] ball.

The unnamed man was captured on camera using the solid metal ball to crush the smartphones and at least one laptop.

Dressed in dark glasses and one white glove, the vandal struck in the Toison d'Or shopping centre in Dijon.

He was eventually arrested after trying to flee from security guards.

In a video of the incident shared on social media, the man declares that Apple "violates customer rights" and claims he has been refused a refund.

Footage shows the man methodically making his way round a display of iPhones and smashing them, as the shop alarm shrills in the background.

Man arrested. His life is over permanently. Everyone take notice. Do not attempt or you will suffer the same fate.

Doing tens of thousands of dollars in property damage is going to have consequences, even if you aren't breaking Apple's stuff. What if he smashed up the place where you live?

Still better to destroy things when angry, than to destroy other human beings or animals. There are people who, when they get angry, hit people with metal objects. Latter people usually get less punishment than this guy wil get. Because, Apple.

Nah, Apple won't bother ruining this guy's life. But if they are smart they will start putting fake phones out on display, you know, empty cases that look like the product but have a card next to them which says to get the real thing from an employee.

    - Please, come in, said the fortune teller, as Woz entered the candle lit room.
    - Madam, I just started building a calculator in my own garage, I was wondering about what will come out of it.
    - Oh. Let me see the future then... I see a big store... made of crystal... and I see the word Apple.
    - YES! truly remarkable! Are there many calculators there?
    - no... there are... walkie talkies... people use them with headphones... big headphones... wait... a guy with a white glove is entering the store... he is angry...
    - WHAT? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??
    - I see spittles as he shouts, looks French. He has something in his hand... a shiny ball. You know like in that sport, bocci... He uses it to smash everything up!
Woz rose from his seat, shouting: WOMAN, YOU TOOK LSD, DIDNT YOU!!! and raged out the door.
    - THAT WILL BE 15 DOLLARS! shouted the woman back.

it will be interesting to see if he gets a large following of people willing to pay his legal costs etc.

Just about everyone I have spoken to the morning has admitted they would have loved to have done this.
