Facebook is aggressively opposing all forms of regulation on its surveillance technology. That includes stepping up lobbying at the state level. However, rather than attacking directly, Facebook has turned to lower-profile trade groups as proxies to head off bills that would give users more control over how their likenesses are used or whom they can be sold to. Bills in at least five states, just this year alone, that would have created new consumer data protections were proposed. Yet all failed, except the Washington bill, which passed only after being reduced in scope.

They're only trying to protect their investments.

The problem is the politicians that take their money. They have to be replaced. You all know the procedure.

I am apathetic enough now that I simply refuse to use the product, knowing that there are not enough people that will try to make a difference that matters. I can't even join up with them to fight this sort of social panopticon system. Hell, even windows promotes that heinous biometric shit even know we have established precedent that The Authorities are within their legal powers to force authentication via biometric means if that is how computers and phones can be unlocked. People are so anxious to get a convenience they make it hard for people that don't mind the extra step of actually remembering a passphrase.

Few actual people that I know understand my concerns about privacy, let alone share them.

It's like most people actually do easily fit under the stereotypes of wanting to see alphamen and alphawomen photos and be told what to do, and don't mind being observed so that way they can be lead to think that the benevolent authorities are recommending the best product placements for them, the best credit card offers, the best loan remediation programs, and the best divorice attorneys and so on.

I hope one day Zuckerberg runs for President. Maybe next term. I know he is not running, but technically he is eligible in 2020. It would be good to see a guy who has done so much goodwill over the past few years topple the Donald.

Goodwill? What goodwill? The anal retentive son of a bitch wants to know every time you fart, every time your daughter farts, everytime your grandmother farts, so that he can sell the information? Goodwill? A name change to Marcus Wolf would be appropriate for Suckerberger. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markus_Wolf [wikipedia.org]

That's not the worst part. The worst part is that he's a goddamn hypocrite.

He wants open borders and yet buys all the properties around his house and erects a wall around it all for his own privacy.

Rumor has it that he is visiting the midwest because he views midwesterners as zoo animals to be pandered to during his run for president.

Facebook is the mark by means of user login as in "No one could buy or sell unless he had this mark, that is, the beast's name or the number that stands for his name." — Revelation 13:17-18. Once credit systems and product offers are held within this closed system, people will be had as a society. Notice how even customer services "are on facebook", that is fucked up.

There's a lot of stuff to not agree with in the Bible. But this one seems to be on the mark, literally.

There seems to be a opportunity to overload Facebook. The wording "state by state" hints right where to go. Supply bills to your local county all different worded for each county by different groups. Facebook counter privacy department will be forced into overdrive, preferably burnout.
This can also be extended worldwide.

Don't forget to donate.. 0.01 dollar to your representative that takes logging dollars. The transaction log of that..
