Two people have been killed and four have been injured by explosions caused by package bombs in Austin, TX this month:

In Texas, Another Explosion Injures 2 Men In Austin

Authorities in Austin, Texas, responded to an explosion in the southwest part of the city late Sunday, with the city's emergency medical service tweeting that it caused two serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The blast comes on the heels of three package-bomb explosions in recent weeks that have killed two people and wounded two more, as well as a bomb threat that canceled a Saturday hip-hop concert at the South by Southwest festival. It is not yet known if Sunday night's explosion is related to any of the prior incidents.

Austin's police chief Brian Manley had made a direct appeal to the bomber(s) just hours earlier.

Austin bomb suspect blows self up as SWAT team approached

The suspect in a spate of bombings that terrorized residents of Austin, Texas, died after detonating an explosive inside his vehicle as a SWAT team approached to apprehend him on the side of a highway, officials said.

Early Wednesday, authorities tracked the suspect — a 24-year-old white man — to a hotel in Round Rock, a city in the Austin metropolitan area, Austin Police Chief Brian Manley told a news conference early Wednesday.

They tracked his vehicle until it pulled over on Interstate 35 and the suspect "detonated a bomb inside the vehicle, knocking one of our SWAT officers back and one of our officers fired on the vehicle as well," Manley said.

My bet is that it's some local who's lived there all his life, just long enough to see the Californians abandon their litterbox, to make another. Or maybe he's just another boring old racial bomber? House and Mason were black, and there's little info on the other four (besides Mason's mother and another hispanic granny). Something something, killing the best of the blacks to keep them down. Something something, Austin's got a Punisher.

    >“We want to understand what brought you to this point, and we want to listen to you.”

Damn, Chief Manley. Guy's had four successful a-site rushes, and you're treating him like he's some dumb sob that's taken the pub hostage after his wife left him for the mail man. Anyone who's ever downloaded any "suggestive" PDF dumps in Austin, better get to dbanning their drives.

This 4th bombing (the one with the tripwire) got two white guys (non-fatal, apparently). It was planted in a largely white neighborhood on the other side of town from the others. At this point it looks like he's drawing a circle around the city.

Or maybe it's the imported terrorists texas tried to keep out? They act like this in their own country, why wouldn't they in another country that let them in. The reason their country sucks is because their culture allowed it to develop, that isn't going to magically go away.

I'd be surprised if the bomber(s) got away with as many bombing attempts [wikipedia.org] as Unabomber did, or if the bomber(s) were not located in or near Austin, TX.

Maybe this is related to all those stories about Amazon's new headquarters. "Psst, Amazon... heard about your new location selection, Amazon... would be a pity if all shipping deliveries stopped in our town till we get moved up the list..."

Or Brick -n- Mortar decide to fight back against Amazon.

I'm only about 95% kidding BTW.

I was listening recently to a couple month old podcast on the topic of the Unibomber where the FBI spent $75M on the case with no leads whereas now with massive computer monitoring and tracking and CCTV everywhere the unibomber would have been caught on his first attempt, fairly trivially. And here's something happening over and over yet all the tech is supposedly not working every time, huh, how bout that... Sure sounds like theres a lot more to the story.

Huh according to recent news thats pretty much how they caught the dude. Just a much slower than "it should take".

I suspect they had pix and digital leads a LONG time before they announced, and they've probably been chasing the dude since the first explosion.
