Reuters reports:

Record-low rainfall in some regions and successive seasons of above-average temperatures have blighted vast tracts of Australia's grazing and crop land.

[...] as grain silos in the south are emptied, desperate owners are being forced to slaughter animals, even if it means it will take years for herds to recover.

[...] The ground in drought-hit regions has dried out to such a depth that it is even killing large trees.

[...] The current dry period is not as extensive as the Millennium drought of 1997-2005, which devastated nearly 50 percent of the country's agricultural land and was associated with two El NiƱo systems, which bring hot, dry weather to Australia.

The current dry period is not as extensive as the Millennium drought of 1997-2005

Not yet as extensive, there's time to catch up with the prognostic for the next 3 months set on "El Nino watch" (a bit over 50% chances it will happen).
Anyway, it's the most "intensive" [abc.net.au] - 2018 autumn the lowest rain fall since 1960.

Unless Steven Wright told the joke at 9 years of age, I think chances are it's an 1964-old Bernard Food joke adapted by Steven Wright. Or sorta "parallel evolution".

Beats me where my parents got one or why, but I remember seeing one of these in my hose when I was growing up. Possibly funnier than the whole dihydrogen monoxide thing.

I'm sure the joke predates that, as everone has invented it themselves.
But what's the "humidifying saunas" line about - that's what real water does when thrown on the stones. Dehydrated water would dehumidify it, surely. They fucked up their own joke.

I suppose they may be thinking at dry heat saunas, otherwise the result will be just as effective as for the "Dampening Dry Humor" use.
Unless, for those cases, the product is to be used in diluted/reconstituted form.

Time we all started to eat more roo meat. There's a plague of kangaroos in the fridge affected areas. Kangaroos also require a *lot* less water and chemicals to farm than cows.

Time to start adapting to droughts. Maybe the cotton and rice farmers will go this way too.
